• Highly-rated Sunderland midfielder Daniel Neil is set to sign a new three-year deal at the club despite attracting interest from Newcastle, Leeds and Wolves.

• Leeds United’s interest in Wales’ Manchester United winger Daniel James is “concrete” but it will have to be a loan deal and hinges on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer pulling off signings himself, according to reports.

• Birmingham City do not appear to be on the cusp of signing Jack Clarke from Tottenham, with the player’s agent taking to Twitter to shut down reports.

• Fulham remain in talks with Sassuolo over signing central defender Marlon.

• Leicester City have no plans to replace Wilfred Ndidi in this transfer window, even though the midfielder has a serious groin injury which might keep him out for up to 12 weeks.

• Slaven Bilic says he has been told by West Brom that a loan deal for Benfica midfielder Filip Krovinovic will be completed before the end of the week.

• Leeds United are making loan enquires on Xherdan Shaqiri, who scored a beauty of a free-kick in Liverpool’s 7-2 Carabao Cup win against Lincoln on Thursday.

• Brighton’s hopes of signing Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun look to be fading with Sheffield United in talks with Arsenal over a deal.

• Liverpool, Leeds and Brighton are battling to sign Motherwell’s highly-rated teenage defender Sam Campbell, according to the PA news agency, with the trio having had bids accepted for the 16-year-old.

• Cardiff City have made an enquiry about signing Fulham forward Anthony Knockaert, who was an unused substitute in both of Fulham’s Premier League games this season.

• Bayern Munich will not allow French midfielder Michael Cuisance to leave on loan, despite Leeds United and Marseille reportedly being interested in the 21-year-old. (Sport Bild)

• Leeds United have turned their attention towards Bayern Munich’s Michaël Cuisance. The Whites have now entered the chase as their manager, Marcelo Beilsa, ‘fell in love’ with the Frenchman, and has asked his club’s management to look into his case.

• Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as a possible destination for Arkadiusz Milik after his move to AS Roma didn’t take shape. Spurs meeting with player’s intermediaries had ‘positive outcome’ – Negotiations to ‘enter hot phase’.
