• Senegalese attacker M’Baye Niang is on the verge of completing a loan move from Rennes to St Etienne after rejecting West Brom. (L’Equipe)

• Derby County summer target Haydon Roberts could be allowed out on loan before next week’s domestic transfer deadline, reports SussexLive. Leeds and Brentford also interested.

• Norwich City are reportedly confident of keeping hold of Todd Cantwell beyond the end of the current transfer window despite interest from Leeds United, who reportedly made a £15m move for the attacker towards the end of September and could, in theory, still sign him before the EFL transfer window comes to a close at the end of next week.

• Leeds remain interested in signing Hamburg defender Stephan Ambrosius ahead of the January transfer window. (Ghana Soccer Net)

• Tottenham were turned down by Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose during the summer transfer window. According to Mundo Deportivo, Spurs, West Brom, Sevilla and Marseille enquired about the frontman but were turned down. Wanted to take Jose on loan after Real Sociedad suggested they were fielding offers. The ‘La Real’ striker only interested in permanent offers and all of those clubs were turned away.

• Former Wales striker Robert Earnshaw has told Ethan Ampadu ‘this is the year’ after he joined Sheffield United on loan from Chelsea for the 2020/21 season.

• Newcastle United are still in the running for several Championship players before the domestic deadline on October 16, per Chronicle Live, with Watford’s Ismaila Sarr someone they could still move for.

• Adama Traore has brushed off speculation that a return to Barcelona could be on the cards in the future. He indicated, however, that running out for Barca in the future wasn’t something that was on his mind. “It’s not my decision whether I would suit Barcelona. My mentality is to work every day to be better. We talk about everything. Even some more general topics because I have been at the club for many years and so has he [Enrique]. We met in the academy and have spoken about things to do with the team, the things that we happened together at Barcelona. We know each other well. He asked me to do my best, to do my bit to win matches. I can only thank him for his trust, [and that of] his staff, the doctors. For his insistence that I come.” A new contract is expected for him at Wolves.

• The Athletic reporter Tim Spiers has explained what Wolves are looking to do during the domestic transfer window. Several players looking at moving on before the domestic transfer window closes. Did not disclose whether those will be permanent departures or just loan moves

• Winger Anwar El Ghazi, right-back Frederic Guilbert and midfielder Henri Lansbury have all fallen down the pecking order since the respective arrivals of Traore, Cash and Barkley to Villa Park this summer

• Wolverhampton Wanderers were linked with Unai Nunez over the summer but Athletic Bilbao’s sporting director has said a move was never on the cards.

• Manchester City are making strong progress with Kevin De Bruyne over signing a new five-year deal at the club, with the midfielder keen on extending his current deal. (Source: The Times)

• Derby County and Middlesbrough are among the clubs interested in signing Baba Rahman from Chelsea who had been heavily linked with a move to Leeds United, who tried to tie up a deal for the the full back, contacting both Chelsea and the player’s representatives on deadline day, but a deal failed to materialise.

• According to ExWHUemployee, former West Ham player Junior Stanislas, now at Bournemouth, could be an option for David Moyes before next week’s deadline.

• Huddersfield Town would ‘ideally’ like to move Terence Kongolo out of the club this week, with Premier League interest emerging in him during the final days of the domestic transfer window.

• Preston North End and Derby target Keinan Davis is open joining a Championship club on loan from Aston Villa following a “raft” of enquiries. (The Athletic via The 72)

• Sheffield Wednesday, Derby, Huddersfield and Birmingham remain interested in Jake Clarke-Salter after he turned down a loan move to Club Brugge. (Goal)

• West Brom are closing in on signing Karlan Grant after Huddersfield indicated they’re willing to accept a loan-to-buy offer. (Football Insider)

• ExWHUemployee claimed that Brentford midfielder Josh Dasilva could be on West Ham’s radar ahead of next Friday’s transfer deadline.

• Norwich City and Reading are reportedly battling for Manchester City defender Joel Latibeaudiere with a permanent deal expected to come next week.

• Tottenham chiefs could explore a January transfer return for Christian Eriksen.

• Olivier Giroud admits he will consider his Chelsea future in January after featuring just once in the new Premier League season.

• The Hammers want to sign Bournemouth’s Norway striker Josh King, 28, but believe the Cherries should accept lower than their £17.5m asking price. (Guardian)

• West Ham United are considering a £5m move for QPR’s Irish midfielder Ryan Manning. The 24-year-old can also play left-back. (Star)

• Bournemouth will not allow Wales midfielder David Brooks to leave before the end of the domestic transfer window. Sheffield United want the 23-year-old. (Football Insider)

• Liverpool will hold talks with winger Harry Wilson over a possible loan move away from the club once the 23-year-old returns from international duty with Wales. (Standard)

• French midfielder Michael Cuisance, 21, has dismissed claims a failed medical was the reason for his move to Leeds United collapsing. He eventually joined Marseille, on loan from Bayern Munich. (Sky Sports)

• Manchester United will attempt to sign RB Leipzig and France defender Dayot Upamecano, 21, for £36.5m next summer. Liverpool and Manchester City are also interested. (Bild, via Sun)

• Ben Davies believes that Swansea defender Joe Rodon would be a credit to Tottenham, if the club can agree a deal for the Wales international. Swansea are currently demanding £20million for Rodon, but Spurs transfer chief Daniel Levy is unwilling to pay that much. According to Wales Online, Tottenham could include Cameron Carter-Vickers in any prospective deal for Rodon to help them get the deal over the line.

• Manchester United have left Sergio Romero, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo out of their squad for the Champions League group stages.

• Mesut Ozil, Sokratis, and William Saliba have been left out of Arsenal’s Europa League squad for the 20/21 campaign.

• The agent for Arsenal defender Pablo Mari has denied the defender will re-join Flamengo on loan to help return to fitness. (Jorge Nicola)

• Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta blocked a move to Barcelona for Ainsley Maitland-Niles following an enquiry from the LaLiga giants. (Fabrizio Romano)

• Manchester United failed with a move for Federicho Chiesa on deadline day with the Fiorentina star only having eyes for Juventus. (Tuttosport)

• Arsenal are determined to succeed in their mission to bring Houssem Aoaur to Emirates Stadium when the transfer window re-opens in 85 days.

• Manchester United are a significant step closer to signing Amad Diallo after the Atalanta winger passed his medical checks with the club.
