Tranmere player exposed at back as he has shorts pulled down then Doncaster go on to score

Tranmere player Jordan Turnbull was exposed at back as he has shorts pulled down then Doncaster go on to score thanks to Patrick Kelly.

This was Donny’s second goal of the game, coming on 66 minutes when Kelly latched onto the ball on the edge of the box, pushed forward and drilled into the far corner for his first league goal in English football.

Goals from Joseph Olowu, Patrick Kelly and Kyle Hurst did the damage with the result putting Doncaster 3rd in the League Two table, with 36 points from 21 games played, while for Tranmere, they sit 19th with 21 points from 20 games played, 6 points above the drop zone and 10 points from the playoff places.

Tranmere boss Nigel Adkins said, per the club website: “Having beaten Harrogate the last game, we thought, ‘Right come on, that’s the start of us moving on’.

“We started the game well today, could have scored some good goals. Opportunities sometimes, Tom Davies with a header over the crossbar. Things that we looked at and worked on from a set pieces point of view.

“It was just the delivery sometimes. A couple of situations we’ve created, and that delivery, that final ball, that quality we’re after, just wasn’t there.

“The organisation was there but the quality wasn’t there.”

Meanwhile, Doncaster’s Grant McCann said, also via the club website: “It lifts the monkey off our back,” McCann said. “People keep talking to me about our home form but we’ve been very strong here since February.

“Yes we’ve picked up some draws here that we couldn’t quite turn into wins this season but we love playing here, in front of our fans,. You could see the place bouncing after we got the second and third goals.

“Our fans are everything and we want to make them happy when we play here. We want to send them home happy and we’ve done that.

“I’m really pleased with the attacking performance considering we had two really good chances early on against AFC Wimbledon that we didn’t take and after that we were wasteful in terms of what we were doing.

“In this one it was a completely different kettle of fish. We were excellent and probably from the first 20 minutes onwards, we controlled the tempo of the game, created lots of opportunities and scored three very good goals.

“I wasn’t really concerned about the missed chances because it’s the way we play. We’re going to miss chances because you can’t take every one – that’s just football.

“Their goalkeeper kept them in it. I know Luke McGee, he’s a very good keeper who I had on loan from Tottenham many years ago at Peterborough. He’s made two very good one-v-one saves against Luke Molyneux and Jordan Gibson.

“But they came from some really good interplay to give us those moments.”

Here’s how fans reacted with the Tranmere player exposed at back as he has his shorts pulled down then Doncaster go on to score…

@WallaceEMann: Shirt pull is a foul, but not shorts?

@AdamBat92308251: Tranmere player tackled the player and not the ball. If pulling shirts/shorts was a foul that Refs actually looked at then matches would be over by halftime with the majority of players sent off. Ref never gave fouls to Doncaster when the shirts were being stretched out.

@daverigg: Caught with his pants down

@george24740: Can we please stop with this it’s bad enough being a Tranmere fan as it is currently

@Adam_PVFC: I’d argue that’s a foul tbh

@keelan_____: That’s definitely a foul, but League Two refs are a bunch of brainless cunts so of course they don’t give it

@froggy0806: We are the best Christmas cracker joke

@thegorn67: You think he’s bad. The other centre half is as thick as a whale omelette. Got himself sent off.

@adamluke22: Not anything to do with our pants being down. Our centre backs are a pair of fucking clowns

@MattyRobbo24: Surely it’s a foul 🤷‍♂️😂

@danbraden15: My club 💙💙💙

@KaruAlfaris: We are fucking awful @TranmereRovers

@MidlandsTrfc: As bad as it was for him Stopping, how in the @EFL has this not been given as a foul!! Horrendous refereeing yet again! But the @FA_PGMOL don’t care. They can’t even look at screens and get things correct!!!

@kezpickle: 😂😂😂 your taught at a very young age to play to the whistle. 😂😂

@bozzatrfc: If there’s ever a clip to sum us up this is it. Turnbull and merrie that is absolutely pathetic.

@phil_g_87: We’re a laughing stock!

@Griswoldd98: This just perfectly describes League Two football

@Davismax1884: The league are even laughing at us now, Our standards as a club are non existent

@TopBoyNaks: As hilarious as this is in what world is that not a foul

@Stever62Roberts: The close-up is even funnier 🤣

@PerpignanFlyer: Whilst it’s a foul probably. You still have to make an effort for the ball and not just stand there like a fucking lemon

@Doyleyy98: We are a meme club
