Spurs come into the game off the back of a 2-0 win over north London rivals Arsenal, and are now sitting top of the league on goal difference. However, they haven’t been firing on all cylinders in Europe this year.

As well as suffering a shock loss in Belgium six weeks ago, Spurs also dropped points in a 3-3 away draw with LASK Linz last time out.

Tottenham will now have to beat Antwerp on Thursday if they are to finish above their opponents, with the hope of avoiding one of the Champions League dropouts.

Antwerp have been near perfect in Group J, failing to win just one of their five matches – a 1-0 home loss to LASK on matchday three.

The last time the two clubs met in October, Antwerp ran out 1-0 winners, leapfrogging Spurs into top spot.

Mourinho suggested that motivation was an issue for his side on the back of disappointing results with Antwerp and LASK.
