The top six favourites to become new QPR manager has been revealed with Neil Critchley sacked after 12 games in charge.
The club from west London has gone winless in 10 Championship matches and it has left them 17th in the table. This puts them eight points above the drop zone.
After Michael Beale’s departure for the Scottish giants Rangers, Critchley was brought in, having left Aston Villa, and previous to that, Blackpool.
His side beat Preston in his first match, but could only get just five points out of a possible thirty available.
Critchley’s assistants Mike Garrity, Iain Brunskill and Iain Brunskill also leave.

CLUB STATEMENT
Neil Critchley has left QPR with immediate effect.
Critchley joined the club in December, overseeing one win during 12 games in charge.
QPR CEO Lee Hoos said: “It is hugely disappointing to have to make such a decision so early into Neil’s tenure with the club.
“However, after seeing the team slip from play-off contenders to one being drawn into a relegation battle, the Board felt it had to act.
“There is no doubt Neil inherited a difficult situation when he joined and we would like to acknowledge his superb work ethic and professionalism throughout our dealings.
“He is a fantastic man and we have no doubts he will go on to be a success elsewhere, just as he was at Blackpool.”
Director of Football Les Ferdinand added: “Unfortunately, things have not worked out how any of us would have liked.
“As we enter into a critical stage of the season, we understand the need for a swift appointment to be made.
“Stability is key to the success of a football club and this season has presented challenges which have denied us that stability.
“For us to move forward we must all learn from what has happened and pull together.”
Mike Garrity and Iain Brunskill have also left the club and we thank them for their services and effort during their time at Loftus Road.
An announcement regarding Neil’s replacement will be made in due course.

Neil Critchley said after the final whistle of his side’s defeat at Middlesbrough on Saturday: “I have to say I thought it [the penalty decision] was a very harsh decision, and at such a decisive moment.
“At 1-0. I felt the game was just slightly changing. There was a break in play, some of the players came over to the side and we’d had a spell of possession.
“I said at half-time, if we’re brave and keep playing, we can get on top. They played on Wednesday night and there’d be tiredness. I felt that was just starting to happen, then they get a penalty that I didn’t think was.
“When I see the players playing like they did today in this type of atmosphere away from home, I have full belief. We just need that bit of belief and things to go for us.
“I was really pleased with the first-half performance, considering the run of form we’re on and the form Middlesbrough are in. We were excellent in the first half.
“We frustrated them and you could sense the anxiety in the crowd, but we didn’t make the most of our opportunities.”

Fans reacted as the top six favourites to become new QPR manager is revealed with Neil Critchley sacked after 12 games…
@SteveH1982: Feel for him whilst our Director of Football gets away Scot free ready to make another appointment. Get Les out of that door! 8 years of utter neglect under him
@ChrisGuyW12: Best of luck to Neil, he seems like a thoroughly decent man. Really disappointed that this didn’t work out.
@JonBergdahl: It’s not Neil Critchley’s fault. He had an impossible job. The board needs to attract investment into the club. I wish him well.
@JohnMacQPR: If the club had any integrity at all, Hoos and Ferdinand would follow him out. There had better be someone lined up, because if Hall or Ramsey oversee the remainder of the season, I can’t see how we stay up.
@Caz1957: Absolutely the right decision, both for club and for Neil. He’s looked a broken man and his own confidence must be shattered. Inherited an awful situation caused by his predecessor in the wks leading up to his departure and was the wrong appt. We need a strong man mgr please!!
@itisjbakes: Thankyou for your services gents. Shame it didn’t work out. Best for the future 💙
@sirlench: Hopefully the first of many departures! When will the board decide to act on the shambles that is the academy????
@Andymack: A mercy really the poor bloke has looked bewildered for weeks. There are a lot of people at QPR that need to take a long long hard look at themselves, not least the board, Les, Hoos and a fair few players who’ve forgotten what a privilege it is to play football for this club
@latest_qpr: All the best Neil. Frustrated this didn’t work out but the right decision to let him go after the run of results we’ve had. Players didn’t help him out but tactics all wrong. Wonder who’s coming in next
@whitelawkr: Well this unfortunately the only option at present. Team totally different than when MB left. Have totally lost confidence. Clearly need a new voice. Wish NC well but just did not work out.
@AntMcD7: I hope this doesn’t go against him in future ventures, I feel that he’s paying the price for others mistakes. He doesn’t deserve to carry that with him.
@Blue_petee: You should probably go for someone with short hair. Also they should not wear cowboy boots and crucially not drive a mustang.
@Superhoop72: Good start, time for Les to go now. 👋🏼
@ArchaeologyTony: Nice guy, spoke honestly after games. Shame it didn’t work out and wish him the best. Problems at the club seem significantly deeper-rooted than the manager though.
@RenegadeBourbon: Les Ferdinand and Lee Hoos you’re next! Don’t let this paper over the cracks, the protests still need to happen against Blackburn!
@superhoops10: Disgraceful treatment. Get rid of Hoos and Ferdinand, they’re the root cause not managers that don’t stand a chance
@hoops197474: Need to clear the decks, DOF and Ramsey need to go. Need a short term plan get to the summer and hopefully stayup then look at a longer term plan. Feel for NC but it just did not happen for him.
@tom_lewo: “An announcement regarding Neil’s replacement will be made in due course” – We’ve deffo got someone lined up… Derry
@robbo159: No doubt he is a good coach but wasn’t the right job for him. The squad needed lifting after what happened with Beale and he just wasn’t the man to do it. Best of luck Neil

Me when someone asks how I feel about Critchley sacked and if sacking a manager with a 8.33% win percentage with no clear playing identity, command of players, respect of fans or reactive tactics will remedy institutional problems deep-rooted in the club pic.twitter.com/XxMFzNzsdm
