Fans took to social media after seeing that Spartan League clubs Milton Keynes Robins & Unite MK have merged along with MK Irish Veterans to form Milton Keynes Irish.
Former club Buckingham Town also got plenty or talk within the replies…
Will they be taking AFC Wimbledon’s place in League 1, as is traditional for new Milton Keynes clubs?

Great news now to liquidate MK dons revenge complete for Wimbledon ?

Hi Comrade, Buckingham Town folded at the end of the 17/18 season by a previous regime, a previous regime before that had sold the ground in the Buckingham which resulted in the move to Milton Keynes.

I hear your comments and appreciate you are running your own club in MK but likewise…..the club’s name was taken, removed from Buckingham and now erased altogether. What could have been in its home town has been lost when it could have been salvaged

The last sentence underlines the status. RIP Buckingham Town FC – the Robins of Buckingham are gone.

I followed Buckingham Town in 2017/18 including time as turnstile man. Approaches to the university about playing at Ford Meadow had got nowhere. Traditional Buckingham fans wouldn’t come to games in MK, and fans & sponsors in MK wouldn’t support a team called Buckingham.

Let’s have an away day!

Grew up in Buckingham and spent many happy times at Ford Meadow so sad to see this, but seems a shrewd move given Manor Fields is next to the Irish Centre – hope it serves its new community well.

I wish you all the best. I visited Manor Fields a few times when Bletchley Town were the club there. I fear though that Bletchley and Central Milton Keynes as a whole lacks enough of a “non league interest” to keep any club afloat long term. I mean, they had to BUY a league club!

Has this one been approved by the FA this time?

Well this looks interesting!!

Now there’s a bit of Irish in them you might get a drink there.

Can the dongs merge with them too!? ??
