Stevenage unveil new kits with unique patterns

Stevenage unveil new kits with unique patterns for the 2020/21 season, as they wait to find out what league they will play in.

The club are currently bottom of League Two, but Macclesfield Town could receive a further points deduction, which would play a big part in whether Boro do go down or not.

Anyway, back to the kits and as you see above, it’s rather different, something the club often do in past seasons.

First team players Arthur Iontton and Terence Vancooten wore the new strips.

The home shirt is white with red stripes running down the front that feature edges which could described as a heart rate on a heart monitor.

The away shirt is dark navy with a unique yellow pattern on the top of the chest, much better than last season’s which looked to have ketchup and mustard splattered on top of black.

The club said: “Stevenage is delighted to reveal its new official home & away kits for the 2020/21 season…

“In keeping with the recent work that the Football Club has been focused on over the past three months, the shirts were first worn and revealed by First Team Players Arthur Iontton and Terence Vancooten as they helped out with the Community Careline – delivering sandwiches to vulnerable residents in self-isolation.

“Three lucky residents this morning received a visit from the players, where in addition to getting their daily sandwich, they all received a free home shirt, becoming the very first to do so.”

"The 2020/21 Home Shirt has been produced in partnership with Macron after concepts were presented to the Club’s new Shareholders to vote on in January, with the winning design being further developed to produce a bespoke modern design that is exclusive to Stevenage.

"Following the success of last season’s eye catching away shirt, which sold out twice, including hundreds of global orders as a result of a Burger King video game advertising campaign, the Club have worked with Macron to produce another bold design which it hopes will prove as popular with our gaming supporters around the globe as with our local fans.

"Home Shirts in both Adult and Junior sizes will go on sale from 10am on Saturday 6th June from www.stevenagefcshop.com, whilst Away Shirts and Baby Kits will be available to purchase in July.

"With the current football and economic climate having placed an obvious strain on the Club, we would like to encourage as many supporters and residents of the town to purchase a shirt online and help support the Club. As a gesture of goodwill the Club will continue to offer 2019/20 Season Ticket Holder and Supporters Association 10% Retail Discount which can be applied at the checkout.

"Please note that the Stevenage FC Club Shop located at The Lamex Stadium is currently closed due to COVID-19 and is unlikely to reopen prior to September 2020 at the earliest. Please visit www.stevenagefcshop.com for all your merchandise needs."
