Thomas Tuchel’s inspiring speech to England players goes viral across social media ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

As seen in the ‘Building the Dream: Lift-Off’ documentary via England’s Youtube channel, Tuchel speaks to the squad, and it’s quite something.

The full video explores Thomas Tuchel being unveiled as the new England head coach and his journey through to present day.

There are also interviews with Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Ezri Konsa and Morgan Rogers and never-seen-before footage from inside the England camp.

In his speech, Tuchel said: “So, of course, bad news, huh? You know, it’s bad news. It’s not enough because it’s not only about football. It’s not only about offensive deep deep buildup and offensive and defensive patterns. It’s not only about set pieces. It’s a big big part. But in international football and especially in international football, it’s not only about football.

“I spoke to a World Cup winner – he was in two World Cups – and he said the difference between the quarter-final and the win was it was the same level, the same quality of players.

“But once we arrived as a brotherhood we were ready to die for each other. It would have been no problem if camp was two months because we loved each other, let’s build guys. Let’s build something special until we arrive here in the US. Let’s go again.”

“And for me, it’s very important we just speak about it. Just straight away. Speak about it. The mission… the target of this mission is clear. Second star on our shirt.

“The point is, guys, I want to arrive here. I’m not even talking about winning. I want to arrive here on top when it gets really tough with the toughest group in the world.

“When we sit here in the plane and land, we know already this will become a great camp and this will be a team no one wants to play against. And they will feel it. They will feel it in the mixed zone. They will feel it in the tunnel. They smell it.

“You see the schedule. I mean a proper football camp is this is what we’re going to do. Today we did already a good training. Tomorrow we train deep buildup crash course. Wednesday we do offensive patterns in the opponent’s half. Thursday we do our defensive patterns and then we go and beat Albania”
