This is how you can play the National League on FIFA

In this article, we take look and explain how you can play the National League on the much loved football simulation video game, that is FIFA.

For many a year now, supporters of clubs at the highest tier of the non league football pyramid have urged EA Sports to consider adding the league to the game.

A few seasons ago, one fan made an audacious attempt to get it on, by creating a petition, which went on to get over 11,000 signatures from various people including some who play online slots for real money.

That idea was from a member of the league sponsors Vanarama, and even created a campaign video to get the division implemented into what was then FIFA 20.

Vanarama wrote on the change.org petition: “We think its time for proper football to be featured on the next FIFA, FIFA 20.

“Every year passionate non-league fans have been calling for their top division to be available on each new instalment of the FIFA series only for it to fall on deaf ears.

“Therefore Vanarama the title sponsor of The National League is running a campaign to get EA Sports to include The National League, English football’s fifth tier on FIFA 20.”

Since then, it would seem that the game makers have chose not to add the league in, and it isn’t set to make an appearance for 2021’s edition.

However, one fan has took time and effort to create a mod, adding every team, player, kit so that those supporters can live the experience of what it would be like to play the National League on FIFA.

@SomersGaming has created a tutorial on how to install the FIFA 20 National League mod, and he has spoken to us at Fan Banter about what made him do so.

He said: “I’ve wanted to have a deeper road to glory career mode challenge for a number of years and when one of my favorite YouTube content creators – Cutzy, started using mods on the PC it opened my eyes to the possibilities.

“I looked into what could and couldn’t be done and just jumped in head first.

“It’s a particularly difficult mod to create as there is so much that has to be changed but the end result is worth it in my opinion.

“I plan to continue to improve the mod all the way upto the release of FIFA 21 and hopefully recreate it for that too and maybe even extend it to the National League North and South too.”
