The amount of times EFL teams have been selected by Sky Sports in the 2021/22 season

In this article, we take a look at the amount of times EFL teams have been selected by the broadcaster Sky Sports in the 2021/22 season.

In 2018, Sky Sports agreed the renewal of its contract with the EFL to broadcast around 138 live league games per season until 2024.

Under the terms of the new agreement, Sky Sports continue to also deliver coverage of each leg and final of the play-offs from the Sky Bet Championship, League One and League Two.

Sky’s also are committed to domestic cup competitions, with 15 matches broadcast per season from the Carabao Cup and the semi-finals and final of the Papa John’s Trophy.

At least 20 EFL games broadcast per season will be chosen from Sky Bet League One and League Two matches, with 16 more from Championship games on Tuesday and Wednesday nights and a lot of then via the red button.

However, TV selections tend to be a controversial one, some absolutely love it, and others really aren’t happy with it changing match attendees’ plans mainly over the change of kick off and date.

With all of this in mind, we take a look at the amount of times EFL teams have been selected by Sky Sports in the 2021/22 season as best we can going off the list on the Football League’s website…

Nottingham Forest have been live on Sky Sports the most times, a total of 22 showings while Fulham were televised on Sky 19 times, while Sheffield United, Queens Park Rangers and Huddersfield have been shown 18 times.

Also in double figures when it comes to showings on Sky, are the following West Brom (17), Derby (14), Bournemouth (13), Middlesbrough (13),  Blackburn (11) and Luton (11).
