Northern Premier League club South Shields unveil their new 20/21 home and away kits and it’s gone down a treat with their supporters.

It will be available to pre-order from their new online club shop from 9am on Monday, with delivery expected in mid-August.

The maroon home strip features a new looking hexagon pattern that National League Darlington also used for their new away kit.

South Shields’ new shirt also has a light blue stripe along the shoulders and is accompanied with the crest, a white puma logo and blue and white Business Energy Claims logo.

The Mariners then followed that up with a tweet: “You’ve been so nice with your comments that we may even let you see the away shirt this afternoon too. Reckon that’s a good idea?”

And then emerged their away strip which also went brilliantly judging by the reaction it had received.

The away strip is mostly white with two stripes down the middle, one maroon and the other light blue.

There is also a maroon stripe along the shoulders, the crest is in it’s usual placing, the Puma logo is maroon and the Business Energy Claims logo remains white and light blue.

The club, who were top of the Northern Premier League before the season was made null and void, have had Puma make their kits since the 2018-19 season.

The three-year agreement initially saw the first team and the academy team wearing the new playing kit and training wear, with the reserves, ladies team and junior teams phasing them in due to sponsorship commitments.

David Mitchell, the club’s Commercial Director, said: “We are delighted to sign a long-term deal with Puma in conjunction with Genesis Teamwear.

“The club is now in a key position to attract the major kit providers in sport.

“We hadn’t planned to change kit providers this season, but due to the success of the team on the pitch, we were approached by over a dozen different companies wanting us to wear their kit.

“We wanted to find a supplier who would design and manufacturer our own bespoke kit.

“With the addition of the training wear, shorts and socks, the range of merchandise that the fans will be able to buy has increased dramatically.”
