Swansea City are being urged by Twitter users to investigate a fan of theirs as a ‘slur’ is heard in a video from the weekend’s playoff final.
Brentford will play in the top flight next season for the first time in 74 years after beating the Welsh outfit 2-0 in the Championship showpiece.
Nine times the Bees had been involved in the playoffs in their history and failed to progress, however it was 10th-time lucky for them, making up for losing in last year’s final defeat to Fulham.
Ivan Toney’s penalty and Emiliano Marcondes set them on their way with first-half goals at the national stadium, to take the west London club back to the Premier League for the first time since 1947.
Bleakly for Swansea, it’s a second defeat in the playoffs in a row, having also been beaten by Brentford in last year’s semi-finals.
They also saw Jay Fulton sent off, too, ending the game with 10 men and now they prepare for a fourth campaign in the Championship next season.
Now the club face calls for one member of their fanbase to be probed after he is heard shouting racial abuse during the game.
It was heard not just by supporters around the abuser, but also on a YouTuber’s match vlog.
Ivan Toney stepped up to take the penalty kick, Swansea fans waved their arms around to try and distract him.
However it would have been really surprising if he had missed, and after putting the ball in the back of the net, Toney went off to celebrate in front of the Swans fans.
One fan shouts “fuck off” whilst the others choose to use either a ‘wanker’ or ‘two finger’ gesture.
Though another supporter instead to try do something to provoke a reaction, shamefully shouting ‘n*****’ at Toney – who didn’t react and instead continued to make his way towards the corner flag – as can be seen in the video below…

It comes weeks after the Brentford striker was again sent racist abuse on Instagram.
The 25-year-old highlighted a private message sent to him after his side’s goalless draw with Birmingham on a Tuesday night.
It included the word ‘monkey’ and a number of monkey and banana emojis.
With it, Toney said: “Honestly, I’m done.”
It is the second time Toney has called out racist abuse he has received on social media.
In January, Facebook deleted the account of an Instagram user who had replied to a post on his page using the N-word.
We are appalled to see yet more spineless, racist abuse directed at Ivan Toney on Instagram this evening
This has to stop. Now

A Brentford statement said: “We are appalled to see yet more spineless, racist abuse directed at Ivan Toney on Instagram this evening. This has to stop. Now.
“We stand with Ivan, and all those who continue to suffer abuse online.”
Facebook saw that it has removed the Instagram account that sent the message to Toney for breaking its rules.
In February, Toney told Sky Sports News that players were being “used as puppets” in taking a knee, and Brentford are no longer making the anti-racism gesture before games.
“We have had a long discussion about that; why we are not taking a knee,” he said. “Everyone has had their say, and everyone agrees [that] we have been taking the knee for however long now and still nothing has changed.
“We are kind of being used as puppets, in my eyes; take the knee and the people at the top can rest for a while now, which is pretty silly and pretty pointless. Nothing is changing.
“The punishments need to be stronger. You’re going to do so much and, in a way, you have to get that helping hand, but it doesn’t look like it’s coming at the moment. So you have to push for that and hopefully things change.”
Fans reacted with Swansea urged to investigate a fan as his ‘slur’ is heard in a video from the playoff final…

@Hughes_scfc: Bloody disgrace to our fans, good luck in the premier league btw, hope you guys do well.
@NeilWarnockk: Someone said the N Word after the penalty 🤬
@joshdavis10: 29 seconds. Racism again against Toney. @SwansOfficial great fans.
@nathanbluebird: Casual racism @SwansOfficial sort it out 🥱
@JamesCCFC_: 100% hear the N word after @ivantoney24 scores the pen
@Dylan_SCFC: was that the n word then?
@JoshColeshill1: Swansea fans about as classy as their team there (moments after Toney scores) would expect absolutely no less
@swanseabeat: Absolutely shocking really. He’s not a Swansea fan in our books.
@D8nnyJ: Jut so you know, that guy is a known racist amongst Swans fans. Posted some dodgy shit in the past too. Quite practically a meme now.
@jwales37: Sad. Just looks like no matter how hard people try to send message that racism is not wanted, still not getting through.
@scottieno7859: Wow. Seriously what is wrong with people
@jonny_bee19: Fucking scum
@KieranCraig2016: If what I heard is correct then we don’t accept him. Guarantee if the club finds out who it is they will automatically ban him for life with that
@_ccfcdan: Classic Swansea fans aye
