Swansea defender gets hit by a car after comeback against Hull

A footballer for Swansea City revealed that he was hit by a car outside the Liberty Stadium following his side’s victory against Hull City.

That man was defender Declan John, who took to social media to give his 37,000 followers an update on what had happened outside the Liberty Stadium.

After being asked if he was alright, he wrote: “Everyone asking if I got run over at the stadium today after the game, I’m fine the car did hit my leg but managed to get out the way of it! Not sure who it was but was driving a silver Citroen.”

Swans supporter @Jonnywills88 said: Seen it happen, looked like a Hull fan mate, police were right by it as well and done nothing ?

Swansea City confirmed to supporters that John did not suffer any serious injury during the incident despite making contact with the vehicle.

We’d imagine the CCTV at the ground could find out who the culprit was and reveal more on the seriousness or it, if they club and player choose to take up that option.

24 year old Declan John didn’t take part in the match this weekend, with new signing Jake Bidwell making the starting eleven instead, along with full-back Kyle Naughton.

Hull City got themselves ahead after three minutes when midfielder Daniel Batty got a nick on Kamil Grosicki’s shot to turn the ball home and claim his first goal for the Tigers.

Within four minutes of the second half Swansea City’s Borja Baston and Mike van der Hoorn turned the scoreline the other way around.

Nathan Dyer’s cross was flicked on by Jay Fulton and Baston sent a looping header over the helpless keeper, and then just over 100 seconds later, Hoorn put the hosts in front when he diverted Dyer’s volley home with his head.
