Sunderland fans left angry with club’s social media post

Sunderland fans were angry with the club’s social media post which showed footage of their equaliser against Blackpool on Saturday.

They were left disappointed again at the Stadium of Light after watching their side go without another win, something they have failed to do since the 2nd of November.

Supporters on Twitter are losing their patience with Black Cats boss Phil Parkinson failing to guide them up the League One table, and instead down to 12th, which has become their second lowest position of the season.

They picked up plenty of draws under Jack Ross this season which led to fans hounding him out, but it would seem times are much worse under their new manager, with a draw now seen a decent result by some.

It’s a point gained over the promotion contenders, and Sunderland’s Twitter admins posted out a tweet celebrating their goal in the 1-1 draw with Blackpool.

Around the half an hour mark, Chris Maguire, who probably won’t be having a McDonalds anytime soon, sent in a corner which met Charlie Wyke and he hit home, cancelling out Matty Virtue’s opener for Simon Grayson’s side.

Did it kick Sunderland into life for the rest of the match? It would seem not as many were left underwhelmed by yet another average display.

Parkinson failed to face the media after the game with number two Steve Parkin taking his place instead.

On the game, Parkin said: “Disappointed with the first four minutes when we conceded. After that it was a good reaction to conceding the goal.

“The aspects of our play early on were a little bit apprehensive.

“The first half at the end of it we grew into the game and showed more bravery on the ball, it was important to get on the ball and we played some good stuff.

“We got back into the game.

“We had a chat about body language being important and reaction to disappointment important too.

“The lads took it on board and there are no guarantees you will score first.

“If you go behind you need to see a reaction, the lads showed a good reaction and sticking to the game plan.

“Good to see Charlie score a good goal to get us back in it.

“The lads showed a lot of character.”

Parkin was standing in for Parkinson for post-match press duties at the Stadium of Light.

When asked by the Echo why Parkinson was not facing questions post-match, Parkin said: “He just wanted a change from it, I think he has had a busy week, his voice is about as good as mine.

“We have had plenty to say this week on the training ground and probably just wanted a break from it.”

They took to social media and came across the club’s tweet, bigging up getting yet another draw in the third tier of English football. Check out those angry tweets from fans by clicking on the next page.
