Caversham United kits are available, some out of stock, others still available, with the new one set to feature at https://www.cavershamunited.com/shop

The Football in Berkshire’s Berkshire Football Stories podcast spoke with Caversham United’s chairman about the famous kit competition.

Paul Gutteridge, the chairman, said when asked how many entry they get: “We had around 150 different designs to chew through and so yeah a pretty decent mark.

“So I guess for those that aren’t aware of the competition, we open it up for normally two or three weeks to the public and to enter their designs,.

“We get quite a range of entrants and various kind of backgrounds entering and once that submission deadlines hit.

“What we do is we sit down with kind of members from each of the teams at the club so last time we did it was a few a couple of us from the the men’s team and a few of the late the women’s team this year we’ll obviously have some of our now famous Reserve team in as well and between that panel they will pick a top 32 and that’s when we go to the the public vote and from there it’s a bit of a free-for-all.

On the votes: “It’s definitely up there in the tens of thousands I think across one of the previous competitions we hit over a hundred thousand total votes across the full load of rounds.

“So yeah decent a decent number of people tend to get involved in this really and like I said you get a mix of people entering and some of the accounts that enter other a decent follower base in the kind of the football kit space so we get a lot of interest from it really.
