Stunning scenes as Wrexham come back from 4-1 down against Swindon to draw 5-5

There were stunning scenes in League Two as Wrexham come back from 4-1 down on the 50th minute against Swindon to draw 5-5 in the 96th.

Many thought the visitors were about surely going to secure all three points in Wales on Saturday, after a brace from Jake Young, along with goals from Charlie Austin and Daniel Kemp, put Swindon in what they thought was a comfortbale position.

However, things started to collapsed for them as Wrexham fought back superbly, helped at first with Elliot Lee netting a penalty and James Jones’ effort early into the second-half putting the home side back in the game. Kemp’s second of the game made it 5-3 with 20 minutes of normal time remaining, before Jones grabbed a second on 90+2, and then Lee hit home with a rebound after a free kick was parried four minutes later to seal a point.

This is what Twitter users made of the stunning scenes as Wrexham come back from 4-1 down against Swindon to draw 5-5…

@Stephen63806399: Still proud as a Swindon fan. Donโ€™t have the strength or money compared to Wrexham. Get rid and invest in your defence and youโ€™re up ๐Ÿ˜‰

@pixiewoowoo: I need a stiff drink.. STIFF

@2907Julie: Being a fan of #WxmAFC should come with a health warning after a performance like today ๐Ÿ˜ฐ

@MCJ_Wxm: Iโ€™ve said that was a get out of jail. That draw is technically a win. But something needs to happen at the back. My opinion Foster for one needs to change. If it was Howard he is hung. Try that new Irish lad out. Got nothing to lose. #Wrexham #WxmAFC #WrexhamAFC

@JoshWilliams26: I don’t know whether to take the fact we’ve scored 13 but conceded 13 as a positive or negative; if we can improve the shambolic defending we’ll be sorted, but that’s easier said than done based on what I’ve seen this season! #WxmAFC

@AdrianC71: Need a lie down, what a comeback from @Wrexham_AFC ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ the EFL is a different beast to non-league. #WxmAFC #TheTown

@Sellak: Way to salvage the point boys! #Wrexham #WxmAFC

@WelshPoketRoket: Every. Single. Emotion was experienced during that game. A 10 goal thriller!!! We saw the worst of football & the jammiest of football ๐Ÿ˜… My God. I love this club โค๏ธ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ๐Ÿ™Œ #WxmAFC

@TimboGooner: Wrexham games never disappoint FT 5-5 came back from 4-1 down HT brilliant game ๐Ÿ‘Œ#Wxmafc

@jde_888: Dear @VancityReynolds & @RMcElhenney. Please can I make a polite request that you install defibrillators in all parts of the Cae Ras as I for one simply canโ€™t cope with many more days like that. Thanks in advance ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

@wesleyd49764890: did well to get a draw but a shambles of a performance in midfield and defence and foster had a poor game too ,needs sorting out donโ€™t see the point in 3 at the back when your letting in so many

@craigclarky: As much as I’m gutted not to take the 3 points home, that was an amazing game to be at. Atmosphere electric! #stfc

@gwalchiwr: Wow, really wow!

@ellis0410: You take a draw before hand, but itโ€™s a massive kick in the teeth when youโ€™re 4-1 up! Absolute mental game, great atmosphere ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ #STFC

@MitchPainter93: If you offered me a point this morning Iโ€™d of taken it but to be 4-1 up at half time and draw 5-5 is absolutely shocking #STFC

@STFCBEN12: Calmed down now. Itโ€™s clear we have a great team that could do great things this year. Piss goals. Look great going forwards. Just need to sure up at the back. 1 more in CB and we are good. Unbeaten against 3 decent sides. Long way to go. COYR #STFC

@tommymezza: Crazy game, more promising signs but we have to buy a proper, experience centre back if we want to win these types of games. Same problems as last season at the back #stfc
