Stoke fans vent fury as they confront their own players after defeat against Blackburn

Stoke City fans took to vent fury as they confront their own players after defeat against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon.

Two goals from Tyrhys Dolan and one from Sammie Szmodics became the first win since the appointment of John Eustace as their new manager.

The win for Blackburn became their fist since the departure of boss Jon Dahl Tomasson and their first league victory in two months.

With newly appointed Rovers boss John Eustace sat watching in the main stand, the hosts scored thee times in the first 37 minutes.

However for Steven Schumacher’s Potters, they suffered a fourth successive defeat, conceding 15 goals, and are now three points above the Championship relegation zone.

Blackburn: Pears, Hyam, McFadzean, Chrisene, Brittain, Rankin-Costello (Garrett 66′), Tronstad, Hedges (O’Riordan 68′), Dolan (Moran 85′), Szmodics (Sigurdsson 85′), Gallagher (Telalovic 66′)

Subs: O’Riordan, Sigurdsson, Wahlstedt, Markanday, Fleck, Moran, Garrett, Telalovic, Ayari

Stoke: Iversen, Tchamadeu, McNally (Haksabanovic 77′), Wilmot, Gooch (Baker 60′), AndrĆ© Vidigal, Burger (Wesley 78′), Johnson (Hoever 60′), Manhoef (Cundle 60′), Bae Jun-Ho, Ennis

Subs: Pearson, Baker, Campbell, Bonham, Thompson, Hoever, Wesley, Haksabanovic, Cundle

Steven Schumacher insists he is up for the ā€œhuge challengeā€ and is adamant he had his eyes open about what he was signing up for, saying per Stoke Sentinel: ā€œIt’s a huge challenge and I knew the challenge coming into here. I knew what it was potentially going to be like and I can’t say I’m surprised by too much.

ā€œBut as I’ve said numerous times, I think there’s enough quality. It needs a bit of luck to go your way, you need a decision here or there and it’s not quite happening at the moment.

ā€œBut the only way through it is to attack it head on. I won’t shy away. We have to have a go, roll our sleeves up and be ready to fight.ā€

Schumacher made eight changes to his starting XI at Ewood Park.

He continued: ā€œWhen you’re not winning games you have to try to find a formula that works. I spoke about people training properly and people staking claims in training sessions. When you do that, you get an opportunity to play and the team was based around that this week. I felt that was the best team because those players in training had performed. That’s kind of what you have to do when you’re not winning.

ā€œBut what we have to say now is that we’re going to have to get players who are ready and committed and are going to be brave and understand where we’re at. We’re in a relegation battle and there’s no getting away from that fact. We need people who will stand up and be counted.ā€

Twitter users gave their reaction after seeing Stoke fans vent fury as they confront their own players following defeat against Blackburn…

@pharbron: Don’t think Burger deserved it but he was first to come over so got the brunt of it. Him and Junho are the only ones that put a shift in

@JackSCFC_: Last person they should be having a go at is burger imo

@Doh26: Having a go at burger, he’s the only one putting a shift in. Give your head a wobble

@atakodaz: Feel sorry for burger having to take it on himself to take the brunt of it all. All those other clowns should be ashamed

@TimCotton81: Schueys at the wheel!

@Jonoldfield5: Shouldn’t be goin at burger but emotions running high rite now so can partially understand, we r in crisis now no doubt bout it

@LukeJFurnival: Those at the front giving it to burger. Hope your route home is riddled with traffic. Embarrassing.

@freefromwokenss: We are in shit this lot haven’t got a fight in them. Well done Burger.

@LGH87: 2 wins in 18, what do they honestly expect. Burger is the last one who deserves abuse but when he’s the only one fronting up then he’s going to get the brunt at the end of the day.

@Harriso91352631: This is gonna end baldy I can tell

@joshlaurenttheg: don’t turn on players who’ve just lost 4 on the bounce if you want performances to improve you’ve got to get behind them and i know it’s frustrating but chanting ā€œyou’re not fit to wear the shirtā€ does nobody any favors

@Jw24387948: I always find it mad how Stoke steal someone else’s manager then the team said manager is from always finishes above Stoke šŸ˜‚

@StokieTom_SCFC: Feels like when we came down from the prem, can’t see a way back from this at all.

@WillM_94: There’s one guy in this video who doesn’t deserve the shit and he’s the one getting most upset about it.

@SamofStoke: Not good this. Manager falling out with players. Players falling out with supporters. Supporters angry with owners. No togetherness. No moving in the same direction. Gloomy times.

@BesterSCFC: This is why the players should just go straight down the tunnel after this dross. What did they expect?

@HarryHowells100: Bless them who knew Schumacher would do such an ace job at stoke šŸ˜‚ #Pafc

@ethan_f3nn: Knowing gayle ain’t putting up w that shot anymore makes me v happy

@CB_pafc: You’re Ill if you’re enjoy this, fun fact it’s terminal 🤩 stoke crumble yes please #pafc

@ScfcSeb: Wouter Burger has won over my heart. Gonna be painful to see him leave in the summer.

@tdog1410: Burger shouldn’t be taking the flack for this but he’s the captain and has at least stepped for as a captain should he’s our player of the season

@waynejburgess: Thought Burger went over to thank the fans but they weren’t having it. Seemed to go sideways pretty quickly. We’re truly doomed now I think. Lost the fans and the team doesn’t even look like they want to be on the pitch.

@JamesCa46649475: I used to like Stoke but they can fuck off 🤣, actually want them to go down, not because shuey left but the fans are fucking unbearable and port vale will actually turn them overšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚, praying it actually happens šŸ™šŸ˜‚ I would be very surprised if shuey doesn’t keep them up tbf

@DaveStubbs14: How to play against stoke. Sit back, let them have the ball and make a load of passes in midfield and just counter with a simple ball that their weak defenders can’t deal with.

@LukeJFurnival: Huge shoutout to Ricky Martin and John Coates. You’ve managed to turn a mediocre championship side into a League one team. Shit recruitment. Shit team. Shit club. But I’ll see you next week for the pain all over again.

@RW3Timelord: Having a go at Burger is shocking ffs, shows the state the club is in anyway
