Step 6 club cease to exist with immediate effect, yes unfortunately that side are NKF Burbage of the Midland League Division One.
They announced on Monday night that they could no longer continue running as a club now that the 2019-20 season came to an end earlier than planned due to the coronavirus.
They revealed on social media: “It is with great regret that NKF Burbage announce that the club is to fold now the 2019-2020 season is over.
“The club has been on a fantastic journey over the past 11 years, through Leicestershire Sunday then Saturday football and latterly via the Midland Football League.
“However that journey has come to a natural end.
“The club wishes to thank all past and present playing and coaching staff; committee members past and present and not least our supporters who have been with us through some extraordinary experiences.
“Thank you and stay safe.”
ABOUT THE CLUB:
The club was founded as NKF United in 2009, with the aim to raise awareness of the National Kidney Federation charity.
They began life in the Leicester & District League, and in 2011 they won promotion to the First Division. In 2013 they were renamed as NKF Burbage, and that season saw the club gain promotion to the Premier Division as champions of Division One.
After finishing as runners up in the following season the club left the Leicester & District League for the Leicestershire Senior League.
In their first Senior League season they finished as Division One runners-up and moved into Division Three of the Midland League.
The 2016–17 season saw the club complete the season without losing a single game in all competitions, and so gained promotion to Division Two.
The following season saw the club become champions of Division Two at the first attempt and so gain promotion to Division One.
The 2018–19 season saw the club finish in 6th position in Division one and make their FA Vase debut, getting to the third round of the competition before losing to Shepshed Dynamo.
They finished the incomplete 2019-20 season in 12th place, winning 11 of their 28 games, drawing twice and losing 15. They have an average attendance of 62 for that campaign, the 12th best in the division.
The club played their home games at Kirkby Road, the ground belonging to Barwell who play in Southern League Premier Division Central.

never nice to lose a club. obviously all options have been looked at, so a shame you couldn't drop a few divisions and go back to playing at Brittania Road, just to keep the club going.

Sorry to read this.
I never like to see clubs fold, especially ones in my home county. Unfortunately I fear that you will not be last.

Sad news. Credit to all who got the club up so many levels in such a short time. A great journey, shame it’s ended like this.
