Since the news came out that St Neots Town are considering voluntary demotion to Step 5, fans and members of other clubs gave their reaction with some giving respect for the honest interview the club’s owner gave…
Had a very honest and insightful chat with Lee during 2nd half of our FA Youth Cup game earlier in the season. Teams at effectively division 7 in the system & below are paying wages beyond their means to a level no other country in the world gets anywhere near. Ticking time bomb

Really nice people at the club and a brilliant ground and facilities. Would be a shame to see you drop down but it’s better to have a club then nothing at all. All the best – Royston Town Kitman

I can think of one or two clubs that could learn from @StNeotsTownFC who are looking at taking a voluntary 2 step demotion to step 5 to ensure that the club is run in a sustainable manner, paying its own way. Meanwhile, others just spend to buy success at any cost.

And @StNeotsTownFC is a club with decent (real) crowds and good income through the bar and sponsorship. Honest football. Honest club. Doing things the right way.

@StNeotsTownFC what ever happens I will renew my season ticket next year.

The reaction to the club’s news continued…
@StNeotsTownFC what doesn't break us makes us stronger I for one have faith in the club to make the right decision whatever it maybe #coys #westillbelieve

I am sorry but I have no sympathy. This club has had no thought for anyone but themselves. Reserves teams pulled out of leagues half way through seasons. This as usual is about money. They don’t care about the kids of this area only the money they get from the academy. Shocking

Sympathy zero, many of the overpaid player problems in this area are a direct result of them paying step 2/3 wages in the UCL 9 years ago to ensure a rapid climb. What was Stefan Moore on its alleged he turned down £1000 a week from Brackley & what Junior doing at that level.

Feeling badly let down by the club. Something is not right about this and the whole thing stinks
