Spectacular comeback included in today’s Nat Lge North + South semi final results

Along with the National League playoff semi final, which saw Salford knock out Eastleigh on penalties, there was also semi finals that needed sorting in the National League North and South.

In the North division, Spennymoor Town sealed their place in the league’s final but it had to go to penalties to knock out Brackley Town after it was 0-0 after 90 minutes and extra time.

They won 5-4 in the shootout and if they win the final, they will be in the fifth tier of English football for the first time ever in the club’s history.

They will take on Chorley after they also had to go to penalties after it was 1-1 after 90 minutes and extra time.

The Magpies ended up beating and knocking out Altrincham 3-1 and are also a step closer to reaching the National League for the first time in their history.

Over in the National League South now and we have to start on Woking who miraculously came back from 2-0 down in the 75th minute to beat Wealdstone 3-2.

It was also a dramatic game at Welling United, they were 2-0 up against Chelmsford City after 33 minutes, before City got one back before half time, then another in the 83rd minute.

However, the hosts crushed Chelmsford’s hopes of advancing when Welling receive and scored a penalty within the three minutes of added on time.

National League North – WOKING v WELLING UNITED (Sun 12th May, 3pm kick off)

National League South – CHORLEY v SPENNYMOOR TOWN (Sun 12th May, 3pm kick off)
