Southampton fan slammed by supporters of own club and Leicester for grim chant

A Southampton fan has been slammed by supporters of his own club and Leicester for singing a grim chant in the Friday night fixture.

The Big Strong Leicester Boys Podcast wrote via Twitter about the chant, which came during a minutes silence paying respect to the deaths in Morocco.

He adds to his tweet: “Instead of finding the culprits and throwing them out the police are filming the Leicester fans. Make it make sense… #LCFC”

The social media user behind that account added: “Absolute disgrace: Some Leicester fans have been escorted out at half time for what happened at kick off.”

As mentioned, the Southampton fan was slammed by supporters of his own club and Leicester for singing the grim chant, with @FlynnJonas2 tweeting in response: “I was in amongst this and can confirm it was one absolute weapon who shouted this… completely unacceptable, and to be fair a lot of #SaintsFC fans told him to shut the f**k up, unfortunately always going to get some idiot in life, it’s just not cool at all… #LCFC

@yjw_x: That’s disgraceful, we do not claim those “fans” that’s a tiny minority.

@ItLcfc: This is the sorry state of football “fans” and it isn’t just saints, every single club has the dickheads, including us. It’s a shame, we all love banter between fans, it’s part of what makes football so brilliant. But stuff like this, there isn’t any place for it.

@ForeverOUFC: Ban the culprit

@Wolfismithbrake: @SouthamptonPD Do your job 😡

@LakeshowLCFC: Vile creatures. Biggest game of their season and the stadiums half empty too, says a lot about this bunch

@mnorman1985: Hope Southampton ban the arsewipe from attending their football games for life #lcfc

@saintsleom: Fucking disgusting. Kick them out and never let them in again

@saileshdghelani: I hope Southampton find the culprit and ban them for life. How low can you get such scumbags. 😡😡😡😡😡 I hope @LCFC make a formal complaint.

@TheSirRobotto: Has been happening for years unfortunately. Football fans are vile.

@Mxttsa: Was a disgrace from @SouthamptonFC fans last night. Got the fans right up for it though and limbs after Vardy scored put them back in their place.

@SouthamptonPage: This is absolutely vile. Those involved should’ve been dealt with. We do not claim those ‘fans’. #SaintsFC

@lnj15_: ashamed of our own fans

@THLCFC: Fuxking disgrace. Had coins thrown at me tonight. Not 1 cop went near the saints.

@George67592222: Disgusting from us tbf

@Opsifyy: Tbf a lot of saints fans from the northam stand were shouting wanker towards the fan

@jbafcb77: Classy from scum as usual… this shit shouldn’t be happening in 2023

@mrtein: Apologies from a saints fan. Totally unacceptable.

@steve72saunders: The ‘fans’ chanting that are the lowest of the low. Makes me ashamed that I follow the same club.

@lcfcfem: It’s more about saying it during a minutes silence. Fans from most teams sing songs that are disrespectful at matches. It’s all disgusting

@LestahGeorge: @LeicsEvents any comment?

@whatkatydid_nxt: It sounded like one person to me but obviously it’s easier to throw a load of away fans out for reacting to it 🫠 Absolutely disgraceful chant.

@MLive2roam: The police were desperately filming Leicester fans at Huddersfield and you could see them desperately disappointed when they got nothing, Don’t know what’s going on this season but the harassment from police with cameras is way ott @LeicsEvents and colleagues fishing

@Josh_b222: What the fuck is wrong with some of our fans???

@saints19765: As a saints fan please be reassured that this was a tiny minority and doesn’t represent how the majority of saints fans act. Congratulations on the result tonight.
