Sky Sports presenter makes hilariously rude slip of the tongue gaffe about Wayne Rooney

Sky Sports presenter makes a hilariously rude slip of the tongue gaffe about Wayne Rooney after his side’s defeat against Stoke.

A video has done the rounds, of which you can hear the reporter saying “Wayne Rooney admits he’d have sucked his entire Birmingham team off at half time if he had the chance” live on Sky Sports News.

Rooney actually said he would have took off his entire team and replace them at half time, with Birmingham going on to lose their Boxing Day fixture 3-1.

Jordan Thompson fired in the opener for the Potters before Lynden Gooch added another; Andre Vidigal netted the third and then Jay Stansfield pulled one back for the hosts.

A fair few times Birmingham fans booed what they were witnessing, while Stoke supporters chanted “You’re getting sacked in the morning” towards Rooney.

Since Rooney was appointed, his side have taken just nine points out of 39 since, to leave them 19th in the Championship table, just seven points clear of the relegation zone.

He has also suffered eight defeats with home fans seen heading for the exits after Stoke’s third goal.

‘Ideally, you wish you could have 11 subs as I could have changed all 11 players at half-time,’ said Rooney.

‘It’s hard to put into words. I didn’t see that performance coming. I didn’t recognise the team out there on the pitch.

‘It’s frustrating because over the last few games we’d made some real strides, so this was difficult to take.

‘It wasn’t the result, or the performance, or anything we wanted to be honest. It was unrecognisable in the way we played.

‘I felt the players didn’t want to take the ball, they didn’t press the way we wanted them to.

‘The goals we conceded were crazy and we didn’t deserve anything out of the game.’

New Stoke head coach Steven Schumacher has now made it four points from his first two games in charge.

‘What we’ve tried to do with the lads is just set some pretty basic, simple ground rules,’ he said.

‘These are about how we’re going to try to behave at the training ground and what we expect, what are the non-negotiables and how we’re going to try to play, with and without the ball.

‘We showed some bits of quality so that was really pleasing and we managed to do enough to get the three points that we desperately wanted and needed.

‘When you come into a job, you’re desperate just to get the first win and we’ve done that now.’
