Sky Sports are forced to apologise after Peter Reid’s TV interview as fans watching on gasp ‘they really left that in?’.

Everton will play their final fixture at Goodison Park on Sunday against already relegated from the Premier League Southampton, with the Toffees moving into their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock from next season.

The broadcaster aired a Goodbye Goodison documentary on Sky Sports News at 11am on Tuesday, and interviews with those associated with the club,

Reid was asked to give his thoughts on February’s dramatic 2-2 derby day draw with Liverpool, and when speaking about James Tarkowski’s dramatic 98th-minute equaliser, he swore.

Discussing the lengthy VAR review on the goal, Reid said: “Someone said to me, you had two celebrations.

“You had one celebration [after the goal] and four minutes later another celebration.

“I said yeah, but what about the three f***ing heart attacks I had in between?”

The interview was shown live on Sky Sports News at 11:30am with no bleep across Reid’s swearing. Then shortly after, with tweets and footage then posted on Twitter, a ticker along the screen read: “We apologise for any bad language broadcast.”
