Sheffield Wednesday have been urged to ban a fan for his George Baldock taunt towards Sheffield United fans during Sunday’s derby.
A second-half goal from Tyrese Campbell won it for the Blades, but unfortunately the game was marred after a fan captured a message written on a Sheffield Wednesday fan’s phone.
The culprit had “Where’s Baldock” on his screen and would show it to the home fans in the tier above as a way of taunting his rival supporters.

Fans on social media, including those of Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday, have come together together to strongly criticised the actions the culprit.
Sheffield Star report that the incident will be investigated by Sheffield Wednesday with a view to taking action once the evidence has been examined.
On Sunday night at 7:20pm, Sheffield Wendesday tweeted: “The club are aware of an image circulating on social media and roundly condemn this abhorrent act. We are working together with South Yorkshire Police on an immediate investigation and make it absolutely clear that there is no place in football or society for such appalling behaviour.”
Danny Röhl said to the club’s media on the game: “I think a draw would have been the right result.
“The XG for both sides was so low and this was one of the stories of this game.
“There were very few shots, even less on target, and one goal decides it.
“I am so disappointed for our fans who gave us such fantastic support today but it was not our day.
“Anthony Musaba went close and the keeper made a good save and this was the nearest we came to a goal.
“It was very much the same for United and all in all I did not see too much difference between the top of the table and the middle.
“This is the Championship, we know we can beat anyone on our day but this was not one of the days.”
Chris Wilder is to toast the Steel City derby win by singing ‘Greasy Chip Butty’, saying post-match: “I know the words so I belted it out a couple of times. I might belt it out a few more times tonight.
“You can’t get away from the emotion of it all. Whether it’s my family, my friends, close pals that I used to go to school with, play football with, stand on the kop with.
“You live for days like today. I’m so fortunate I have the opportunity of managing this incredible football club that is loved by us all.
“I might not have sung it if we’d got turned over. We rolled the dice at half-time and we got, I think, a deserved result in a tight game.”
“We can’t achieve anything when we’re not connected. It’s a word I use a lot,” said Blades boss Chris Wilder after their derby delight against Wednesday.
“We’ll have bumps in the road but what you’ll see is that last five or 10 minutes today when everybody is giving everything.
“We were miles off it last year. We weren’t prepared to go into the Premier League. It was a difficult time.
“The players were undercooked and the Premier League is a ruthless division. It was time to make changes in terms of players and the way we play.
“A lot of hard work went into the summer recruitment but it’s down to the players and their attitudes. I’m enjoying working with them.
“You’ve seen the subs at the end, you need that togetherness and you definitely need it here.”

Twitter users gave their reaction with Sheffield Wednesday urged to ban the fan for the George Baldock taunt towards Sheffield United fans…
@waynejackson84: Why do they not realise that they will be caught and ultimately punished? 🤦♂️
@TheBaggiesBible: I know every fan base has them but Sheffield Wednesday seem to have a few more of them, don’t they?
@DeanoCummings85: Why do people use a day at the football as an excuse to act like c#nts. It doesn’t give you a pass to say and do exactly as you frigging well please
@CcfcAddy: I will never understand what it is about *football*, something we all love but that ultimately doesn’t matter, that drives people to do things like this
@JordyHiRoller: As a Wednesday fan…we quite possibly have the worst fanbase in the 92 atm #swfc
@ianparkinowl: What is wrong with these people. Lock him up and throw the key away
@SBAconnor: So the Palmer, Lowery, Baldock, West brom fan situation in just over a year. Bleak for them. Feel for the genuine wednesday fans who actually are decent
@cjwvr: Didn’t this lot mock Bradley Lowery too? Every fanbase has idiots but this mob are absolute scum.
@Lazychris14: @swfc lifetime ban plz
@JimmyRambleYT: The lad will likely be sacked in the morning, banned from his club and may even get a visit from the police…Important to remember though-one absolute numpty doesn’t represent the entire fanbase. We’re rivals on the pitch but the way they handled George’s passing was top class
@Jarvalho111: Banning order incoming, hopefully
@Nick_wba_70: Another life ban for a weds fan 🤡
@Jamesblade1889: Just put this on to post every weekend. Ur scummy fans always the same. Vile fuckers
@Owl400x: I can’t believe this has happened once again it’s fucking disgusting people like this shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the sport and they are just making us look like a horrible fanbase disgrace RIP George 🦉😢💜⚔️
@MattSummerhill: There will be the usual “every club has them” comments, but I don’t care about every club, I want each and every one of these scumbags rooted out of my club. They don’t represent us as a fanbase, but they bring shame on us with every such behaviour
@harvey_walters_: Get the fucker gone
@Brett81Gregory: 👏🏼 How something like that even crosses someone’s mind never mind do it is beyond me. Wednesday as a club and their fans were great when the tragedy happened, and they won’t let this cunt show them up. Fair play 👏🏼
@EuanPryce: always us though isnt it, fans need to give there heads a wobble, getting a right name for ourselves, absolutely no room for it #swfc 🦉🦉
@barneyGoxfordd: Baffles me people still do stuff like this
@k3zz4x: What annoys me is these idiots keep coming out, doing such ridiculous things. It’s another excuse to dig at us decent fans and our beloved club. Learn the lesson you won’t get away with it so grow up ffs
