Sheffield Wednesday have been unsurprisingly slammed by fans after revealing their matchday ticket prices for the 2023/24 season.
The most expensive ticket price for an adult on a matchday is set at nearly £60, while the cheapest adult ticket is £27, as seen in the graphic below.
It comes as back in May 2023, the Owls came under criticism for the ‘shocking’ pricing of 2023/24 season tickets. See more on that by clicking HERE.
CLUB STATEMENT:
The Owls can confirm matchday prices for the upcoming Championship season at Hillsborough.
Matches will be priced accordingly around three to four weeks before each fixture.
Savings can be made by joining the Owls Membership, packages for which were announced earlier this week, with fantastic numbers already signed up.
All Members receive a range of benefits, including a £5 discount on matchday tickets and ticket priority, whilst Adult Members will also have four double discount fixtures, saving £10 on select games.
Memberships are on sale now and available online HERE, at the Owls Megastore or by telephone on 03700 201867.
The next phase of Season Tickets will also go on sale next week. Even in the latter phases of sales, Season Tickets maintain the best value against standard match by match purchases and Memberships.
Please note that from next season, for league and cup fixtures, a £1 booking fee per ticket will apply for all bookings online and by telephone.
Supporters should also note that tickets will not be available on the turnstiles on matchday and must be purchased in advance, either online or from the main Ticket Office or South Stand Ticket Office.

Ticket details for the Owls’ opening home fixtures will follow in due course.
As mentioned. Sheffield Wednesday have now been slammed on Twitter after revealing their matchday ticket prices for 2023/24…
@TrapitJon: 60 quid? Really? Robbing bastards
@BaggieFans: £59 🤯🤯 no doubt be charging £40 for away tickets too
@tom_goulden: Was actually going to buy a membership for the possible 10 games I can get to. Not bothering now. Can’t believe I have been priced out, shocking
@dharvey4: The Championship isn’t the Champions League, £20 is plenty.
@Zippy_upnorth: £59 to watch a football match on the South stand. Unbelievable Jeff
@mark1867bryan: How to not fully utilise the clubs two biggest assets…fan base and ground capacity. 🙄 I speak as a season ticket holder but I’m gutted by this and those prices are utterly disproportionate for Championship football. ☺️💙🦉# WAWAW
@Owlsfan941: With these prices we should expect top players to be bought in and Premier League football next season!
@OwlPricey: Need to make a few good signings and sharpish to even have a small chance of justifying those prices.
@ryanmeston07: Wow that is absolutely shocking! Can go see premier league teams for much cheaper than that
@24_ricochet: Eeesh, don’t think I can really afford a game this season then.
@paulandrews22: Think we all knew these were coming but it’s so out of touch. Got the pricing wrong throughout the whole club this season
@nattasswfc: £59 to watch Sheffield Wednesday. Obscene.
@mozzaev: upto £59 to go see a game are you taking the pee, who can afford that…. Just feels like a money grab…
@RevTombola: Might make a saving closing South Stand ticket office, not gonna be that busy with supporters paying £59 on the gate 🤣
@tom_goulden: You have surely more or less just lost your turnstile revenue 🤷🏻♂️.
@mallswfc: £60 in the south for a cat A 😳😳
@ThomasLedger: @swfc those prices are disgusting. Championship football priced more than premier league 🤢
@grrooves: Whoah!!! That’s robbery!!!
@FraserBoyd1: £59 In south 😂 Didn’t think I support Real Madrid 👀
@TomMatthews_: R.I.P non season ticket holders
@AlbertRamsbott1: £35 for a Cat A game concession, I was paying between £14-£16 a game, concession, last season, a £20 jump is a bit much, won’t be going to as many games then, well done Mr Chansiri
@nathbswfc: I live 90 miles away from sheff, lucky to have family near Hillsborough where I can stay for games. I feel sorry for people who have to get accommodation ect to watch Wednesday. These prices are mental
@J19721: Wow you’ve just totally out priced a big section of our fanbase. You do know there’s a cost of living crisis right? Enjoy a half empty Hillsborough for most of the season.
@crampyyyyyy: Wow, what a clown we have in charge
@MattOwl29: Fookin el £59 a Cat A game in South Stand 🤣🤣
@therealtbailey: Ridiculous. Absolutely shameful. Ought to be ashamed of announcing those prices.
@therealowlstom: I said this when he first rocked up 8 years ago and it rings true again now. An entire generation of supporters have been cut adrift with those prices. Going to football should not be a treat that has to be rationed.
@Colinzeal83: Absolutely disgraceful prices! Shameful! Will be next to no walk-ups at those prices.
@tripl3double: A catastrophic failure to capitalise on goodwill and momentum from last season. A myopic price hike that erodes the clubs ability to create a future fan base. The chairman is not fit for purpose and anyone defending him or this ought to take a good look in the mirror
@paulsimpson986: Why not reduce and have 35k there every week this would also generate more revenue through associated food and beverage sales as well as other club merchandise very short sighted pricing average people away from the club shame could have made it into a fortress for away teams
@andrewklos: Shameful. All positivity from the end of last season has been lost in the last 2 weeks. As a club all we do is shoot ourselves in the foot time after time
@el_grayson: These are shameful. People’s finances are at breaking point. Priced out thousands here. £45 for the kop 🤮 disgraceful. £65 for a Macron shirt? No longer a working man’s sport 🤬 #swfc
@mj_hale: When are we dropping the real match day prices because this has to be some sort of joke, right? Not everyone can justify a ST because work, family or other commitments. All this is doing is pricing more fans out of the game.
