Relegation threatened Isthmian League club get points deduction – dramatic changes to bottom two

News has recently emerged that relegation threatened Greenwich Borough have been handed a three point deduction, meaning incredible news for bottom place Guernsey.

The league have stated: “The Bostik League can confirm that South East club Greenwich Borough have been deducted three points due to fielding an ineligible player in their victory against Hythe Town on 16th February.

“The deduction was ratified by the board, 24th April, and then applied to the league table accordingly.”

This news so close to the season closure means Guernsey (who were bottom) now switch with places with (was 18th) Greenwich and the Channel Islands based side now need one point at Sittingbourne to confirm safety in the South East Division. The London side need to win against Hastings United and hope Guernsey lose in order to stay up.
