Referee Darren Bond has been slammed over a Callum Robinson red card and Cedric Kipre handball in the fiesty Swansea v Cardiff clash.
The first strong tackle came within 10 seconds. Matt Grimes on Callum Robinson and Cardiff started brightly with Ben Cabango having to be alert to cut out a cross.
The Bluebirds came into this knowing just how pitiful they had been in the two games against Swansea last season.
Then Callum Robinson was shown the red card for violent conduct, but fans are not totally convinced with Cabango said to have been milking getting a ball to the face.

Michael Pearlman and Chris Peddy via BBC Sport: “What is Callum Robinson doing?
“He just threw the ball in Ben Cabango’s face!
“He’s sent off, rightly.
“Completely unnecessary from the Cardiff forward.
“It’s the most blatant red card you will ever see.
“He’s just completely lost his head.
“Now Cardiff must play for basically the whole game with 10 men.
“Callum Robinson enters the south Wales derby history books for all the wrong reasons.”
Danny Gabbidon (Former Cardiff City defender on BBC Radio Wales): “Complete stupidity from Callum Robinson, this is something Cardiff City have had an issue with all season, it’s about controlling you emotions.”
After that incident, Swansea went on the attack, Cardiff struggling stop their relentless possession.
Joel Latibeaudiere saw his header from the centre of the box go high and wide to the right. Then Ben Cabango right footed shot from outside the box was blocked.
Gareth Vincent (BBC Sport Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium): “The early red card has changed the mood of this game.
“Cardiff had caused a few problems in the opening stages, pressing high and knocking Swansea out of their stride.
“But Callum Robinson’s premature exit means the Bluebirds are now being more cautious, allowing Swansea to spend time on the ball – which is just how they like it.
“Cardiff’s 10 players look like having to put in a big shift thanks to what was a needless sending off.”
Swansea striker Michael Obafemi did everything right as he shows a great touch to beat Curtis Nelson but, with a clear sight of goal, he dragged his shot wide.
There was massive controversy 34 minutes in after Matthew Sorinola crossed and Cedric Kipre punches the ball away. A blatant penalty with Cardiff getting away with one as Darren Bond couldn’t see it.

The deadlock was broken two minutes later, a superb finish by Ollie Cooper showing reaction of a striker to smash home a loose ball in the penalty area.
Andy Robinson (Former Swansea City winger on BBC Radio Wales): “Absolute brilliant finish from a player that has been so impressive since he has come in to the Swansea team, he is making his mark this season.
“We talk about heroes, we could have another one on our hands.”
Gareth Vincent (BBC Sport Wales): “Well, well, well. Ollie Cooper’s father Kevin played for Cardiff.
“As a result the younger Cooper grew up near Cardiff, and most of his mates are Bluebirds fans.
“He had numerous failed trials at Cardiff before joining Swansea a little over a decade ago.
“And in his first appearance in a senior south Wales derby, Cooper scores the opening goal – and his dad is here to see it.”

Danny Gabbidon: “There’s not much else Cardiff can do when they are down to 10 men, they can’t really go away from this game plan they’ve just got to try and keep themselves in the game.”
Not long into the second half, Harry Darling and Callum O’Dowda clashed after a meaty challenge from Darling on the Cardiff man.
Darling then gave O’Dowda some trash talk, O’Dowda reacted and both players were booked.
In the 55th minute, a powerful shot came from Michael Obafemi after a neat turn just outside the penalty area, but the effort was straight at Steven Benda.
Michael Obafemi was then booked for dissent. Swansea picking up silly yellow cards. Before another flash point as players come together after a freekick, Joe Ralls is booked.
A rare moment for Cardiff saw Callum O’Dowda cross the ball and Mark Harris headed it at goal, but his effort was over the crossbar.
And just as Cardiff were coming back into it, Swansea go and extend their lead. Matt Grimes, who completed over 100 passes throughout the game, weighted perfectly to split the Cardiff defence and this time Michael Obafemi made no mistake, showing precision to stroke the ball into the corner.

Cardiff’s players worked hard to keep this score respectable, unlike past seasons. Swansea have been too much to handle however and before we knew it, the ole’s started around the stadium from home fans.
The final whistle blew, a dominant win for Swansea, again, courtesy of Callum Robinson’s early and incredibly stupid red card and the bragging rights belong to the Swans, with the Bluebirds now beaten for a third successive south Wales derby.
Swansea’s Russell Martin: “We were helped with the early red card. It was something we spoke to our players about – especially the young ones in the team – to not get involved in any of that. Thankfully for us, one of their players did. It’s a really easy mistake to make when the atmosphere is like this in such a big game.
“Then, it was about sticking to our game plans more than ever and not changing anything. I really liked us and we should have scored more goals than we did.”
Interim Cardiff boss Mark Hudson: “It’s about having controlled aggression in moments during a game. It’s something to learn from and I can only focus on the players who were on from seven onwards. They stuck in, fought for the club, fought for the badge, and fought for each other, which is all you can ask.
“I’m not sitting here and saying we’re going to go on and do anything. There will be some tough moments between now and the end of the season because that’s football. But what we have now is a real conviction, belief and togetherness in a group of players that is really important to any successful team.”
This is what fans said as the referee gets slammed over the Robinson red card and Kipre handball in what was a fiesty Swansea v Cardiff clash on Sunday…
ON ROBINSON:
@owenelwood6: How’s that a red, games gone soft yellow all day
@CJWalters82: Shocking refereeing. It’s a big derby game and he’s thrown ball at him. It’s a yellow at most. Ridiculous decision
@wrren1990: Think of his family at this tough time
@JoeClarke4: Games a waste of time if that’s a red
@BurntKneeCap: I don’t think there’s been a championship game this where the ref hasn’t made a ridiculous decision yet nothing is done about it
@CharlieCrooks8: 😂😂😂 laughable these refs pathetic
@fulham__pat: That’s never a red. Was a decent start to the game too. Killed it now tho
@AndiMorris85: Sending Cabango thoughts and prayers. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
@dean_cameron16: Soft, yellow would have been fine. Ruined the game now 👍🏻
@Tez1995: How is that a red card I don’t like the player but shit me the was soft
@WBAbran: Never a red
@Alexwel81304031: Shocking, could of killed him
@roathboy: That early, in a derby, maybe a yellow would have sufficed, but he has no one to blame but himself and now misses the next three games. I had only just got over the no look penalty he missed!
@gcxb: on what planet is that a red card man hahahaha all the officials in this league are utter shite
@_benashton: Ref’s shat himself 7 minutes into a derby. Fool
@Jshakyx: The games gone
@LUFC_WorldWide: Red card? Absolute nonsense 😂
@DannyTollz10: How’s that a red !! Soft as 💩
@jwHCAFC: EFL referees never change will you
@sarah_WBAx: 7th minute of a derby and he gives a red for that?? 😂😂 Surely common sense has to come into play from the ref, actually common sense and referees? What am I thinking? 😴
@c__wat: sent off throwing a ball at somebody, fuck me games gone
@craigo1998: I can understand that if there’s a hand raised, certain players try to milk it to make it look worse than it is and get a red card but this is absolutely taking the piss
ON KIPRE:
@RyanTomson3: Standard of refereeing in English football is the worst across all of Europe, need a revamp and get referees in that can actually officiate to a decent standard
@Graham95Lee: Big kipre for Cardiff there, how has the ref missed that clear handball 🤣🤣
@rhyswills26: VAR would’ve given a penalty on the Kipre handball
@dink2k5: That Kipre handball is the most blatant handball to not get punished since Maradona 😂😂😂 How has both lino and ref missed it like 🤦♂️
@alexjNAD: Must be hard for Championship managers not to brutalise referees in their post-match interviews when they make scandalous decisions like this.
@CliffordKonadu: How the ref has missed this 🤣🤣 unreal
@Coventrian7: It was at this precise moment the Swansea fans were in favour of VAR.
@Jay_Evans1997: These referees aren’t serious
@evoccfc: Refs gonna know he’s fucked up on Kipre handball need to make sure he doesn’t get chance to give a soft one against us to even it up
@jaaysheppard: Hand of Kipre. Fuck me
@ThreeBluebirds_: Ffs Kipre just slam-dunked the ball for a throw and it didn’t get given 🤣 Mental officiating in this league.
@frankieptaylor: Cedric Kipre is a lucky boy
@ItsLukeee9: How’s that Kipre got away with that 😂
@reece_shore: Jesus Christ that’s the most blatant handball I’ve ever seen from Kipre
