Raheem Sterling posts an amusing video of schoolkids mocking his running style, and we have to say it is so worth a watch.
In a light-hearted clip, he takes to have a laugh at his own expense having beein a subject of cheeky trolling on social media throughout his Premier League career.
Sterling is oftenseen on the pitch with his forearms up every time he goes forward, something which he says he gets from his Mum.
In a new video, the Chelsea player decides to show an example of a training drill to a group of school kids, he goes on to weaved in and out between a set of cones in front of him with the ball.
Then a teacher is seen saying to his students to stand up and repeat the drill themselves, and they indeed to the same thing, but this time with their arms up just like Sterling does in matches.
Sterling watches on, looking baffled, then tells the teacher: “They’re not mocking me, are they?”
To which the teacher responds: “They’re kids. They’ve asked if you could sign these?”
In a different clip, the teacher then teels Sterling as they walk outside the school: “They don’t appreciate you like I do. I like how you run.”
@sterling7 Why are they running like that? ππ
It turns out that the video was part of a cheeky advert for Clarks, with Sterling a Global Brand Ambassador of.
In 2018, he says he’s used to being laughed at for the way he runs on the pitch, though he insists it never stopped his mother from being part of the Jamaican athletics team in her youth.
“My mum went to my little brother’s sports day and she sent me a clip of her running and I thought, ‘Ok, that’s where I get it from!'”, he told talkSPORT.
“I’d never seen her run before. It’s my mum. Don’t laugh but yeah. Before she had my sister she was in the Jamaica athletics team when she was young.
“I don’t think my running style is something to pass on though, I’ll take all the laughter myself.”
