Provisional Premier League TV selections announced for when season resumes

Provisional Premier League TV selections have been announced for when and if the season resumes on the 12th of June following the coronavirus lockdown.

Reports have emerged claiming that the first game of the return of the Premier League is set to kick-off with Friday Night Football live on TV – Tottenham vs Manchester United the favourite for the prime spot.

However, that could be pushed back a week to allay players’ fears about rushing back to soon.

It’s expected that all the other nine matches that weekend will be televised – one live match apiece on Friday and Monday evenings and the other eight spread equally across Saturday and Sunday, with different kick-off times so every match can be watched on TV.

Sky Sports and BT Sport will have to reveal the new schedule, four matches each weekend, with BT Sport having one and the other five potentially being FREE-TO-AIR – possibly via YouTube or the red button.

But it is expected that the cameras will be there for Jose Mourinho meeting with his former club, the fixture deemed the biggest game of the weekend.

UEFA have dropped the traditional Saturday 3pm blackout, meaning all matches can now be broadcast in the UK at any time.

It’s expected pre and post-match press conferences will be held via video-link rather than in person.

After learning that provisional Premier League TV selections have been announced for when the season resumes, users on Twitter gave their thoughts…
