A report by TEAMtalk suggests that Preston North End have shortlisted potential replacements for Alex Neil.
It is said that chairman Peter Ridsdale has got former Lilywhites player and manager David Moyes on his radar.
Moyes finished his playing career at Preston and then went on to start his managerial journey at the club, from 1998 until 2002. The 1995/96 season, he was part of the Football League Third Division winning squad. The 1999/00 season saw him guide them to the Football League Second Division title.

He then spent 11 years managing Everton before heading off to manage Manchester United followed by Real Sociedad, then Sunderland and finally West Ham United.
The report goes on to add that Lincoln City duo Danny and Nicky Cowley are also being considered.
The Cowley Brothers first grabbed the attention of the country when they took Lincoln City all the way to the FA Cup Quarter Finals in 2017, causing shocks against Ipswich, Brighton and Burnley along the way.
They finished the 2016/17 season crowned champions of the National League and finished 7th, claiming a playoff place in their first season back in the Football League and also won the EFL Trophy at Wembley.
In the current season, Danny and Nicky Cowley’s side current sit top of the League Two table and continue to look like real promotion contenders.
Preston North End currently sit in the relegation zone of the Championship, picking up just 9 points from 12 matches.
Alex Neil might have just held on to the job for a little longer after smashing Wigan Athletic 4-0 at the weekend.
