Police ended up having to break up ugly scenes which came outside Wembley after the game with bottles smashed and 30 arrested.
England and Scotland fans were involved in a minor scuffle following Friday night’s Euro 2020 draw, however heavy police presence was on hand to quickly intervene, preventing it from becoming much worse.
Supporters came face to face while leaving the stadium, with Daily Mirror chief reporter Andy Lines capturing the footage outside the national stadium and praised the fast response from the police.

“Police have been great all day. When there have been problems – they moved in quickly and efficiently,” he said.
The tense incident followed a tight contest between the two sides as England and Scotland finished goalless.
Scotland fans were in high spirits as they partied in London but they also went on to clean up after themselves as they picked up piles of litter before the Euro 2020 clash with England. On the whole, the Scots have really behaved themselves over the last few days.
In both Friday and Saturday mornings, they were pictured removing rubbish from the street and parks.
Well done @ScotlandNT and well done to our fans cleaning up ⚽️🏴 https://t.co/oKSGNYfjWK

Social distancing on many occasion has gone out of the window as fans set off flares in a party atmosphere where a huge number of bottles were also broken and people danced in fountains.
Police arrested 30 people for offences including racial aggravation, drunk and disorderly behaviour and assault on a police officer.
Bottles and other litter was left piled up around central London as more fans from north of the border turned up on Friday.
Police warned of “boisterous” behaviour as groups met at Hyde Park and Kings Cross despite calls to maintain social distancing.
Many then went to pubs to watch the game, though police had to move on fans that remained gathered in Leicester Square shortly before half time over fears that there could be trouble with England supporters also moving into the area.

Initially, police spokesperson said: “As a result of the policing operation today in relation to the football, 18 people have been arrested so far by officers. All of those arrested were male.
“Arrests were mainly in central London and in the vicinity of Wembley Stadium.
“Offences included violence and disorder, possession of drugs, possession of an offensive weapon (knuckle duster), racial aggravation, drunk and disorderly and assault of a police officer, who suffered minor injuries.”
England knew that victory against their fierce foes would seal progress to the round of 16 with a match to spare, but Scotland dug deep and gave Gareth Southgate’s side a few scares.

Man of the match: Billy Gilmour (Scotland)
England boss Gareth Southgate: “It’s a fair scoreline, we didn’t do enough to win the game or create enough clear-cut chances, but we didn’t deserve to lose it either. I have to give huge credit to Scotland, they used the ball well and defended very well, we couldn’t find the solutions. We had moments down the sides where the spaces were against them, but weren’t able to exploit those spaces. In the end, we didn’t do enough to win, but this is a tournament and it’s critical when you don’t win not to lose.”
Scotland boss Steve Clarke: “Stephen O’Donnell was exceptional, and Billy was just behind him. It was nice for him to get that start, a big platform, a big player, Billy. I’ve said for a long time he’ll be a big part of the future of Scottish football; we know what we’ve got in the camp, we’ll try to manage that and keep a lid on things. Performances like that will do him no harm whatsoever.”
Roy Keane on ITV: “Harry Kane looks leggy, he’s not up to speed, on his heels all the time. If England are to compete in this competition, they are going to need their star men to perform. I’m glad Gareth [Southgate] took him off, he’s wasn’t performing. Kane is a big problem.”
Graeme Souness on ITV: “He looks a shadow of the player we know he is. He looks leggy and lacking enthusiasm. He’s not getting a great deal from England’s midfield, which isn’t working, but Harry looks tired and jaded. This is a guy who might have a big move this summer; he needs to wake himself up. Is he carrying something? But Kane is England’s one proven goalscorer at this level. If he is not scoring goals, you are in trouble.”

@NikHunt_: Shame there was no enforcement on the tubes. Supporters heading to Wembley clashed with rush hour – little mask wearing, singing, drinking alcohol. Went unchallenged yet I’m not allowed to go to a restaurant with my extended family. Doesn’t make sense.
@rammieib: Imagine travelling from Scotland, with a ticket and then missing the game because assaulting a police offer was more important to you. Good work Met Police
@McClumsy84: I’m shocked that only 6 were for being “drunk and disorderly”. 😉😁
