Photos of ‘bizarre’ new Liverpool fourth kit leaked divides fans opinion

Photos of a ‘bizarre’ new Liverpool fourth kit has been leaked online and via social media and it’s certainly divides fans opinion.

Those at footyheadlines.com have discovered that the Reds’ kit manufacturers Nike are lining up a fourth kit to be released mid-season.

The club, who sit top of the Premier League table, already have a red, turquoise and black kit yet that isn’t enough to cover all based for Liverpool.

Footy Headlines point out that this new kit uses the same design template as Liverpool’s black and red third kit, meaning it is more likely to be legitimate.

It was also speculated that the logos would be centred, though Footy Headlines have now released images of a design that they believe is “almost 100 percent certain” to be real.

Footy Headlines suggest that due to the size of the logos the shirt would not be worn for any official matches, which seems strange given the marketing appeal.

The design looks odd and the logos are way to big to be allowed in official competitions – however this might be one of those fourth shirts that never get worn on-pitch.

The Nike Air logo is same logo appeared on a football that was recently released in Asia and is part of a new Liverpool collection centered around the fourth shirt.

Tottenham’s fourth kit – also made by Nike – was based on the same template as their third, yellow kit as well.

The reliable site have covered the news, with the release date set for the 17th of January.

Empire of the Kop, a fan website, says: “We welcome a new kit, a new way for fans to show their support for the club, but question how often it’ll be worn.

No doubt we’ll see the white/black shirt on some European away days in the coming months – but it’ll be a rarity, given how often alternative kits are used.

That could be seen as a positive for football shirt enthusiasts, who could be keen to add the new number to their collections.

The centred logos will be an interesting touch, with the Reds not donning a kit like that since the early 2000s.

@AdamB49386593: Reminds me a little of 2010-11 away kit… which I got with carragher on the back… loved that kit

@lindalmaher: Yes….definitely better than the green monstrosity!!

@Joegriffin7: Definitely looks like a basketball shirt

@P_Kotsy: With Black shorts and white socked it would look great. Should become our 2nd kit , get rid of that aqua monstrosity

@coycollett7: Lot better than ones we got already

@Eileen99729600: Horrible. Why do we need a 4th kit anyway (££££!)

@lfc_nikita12: If they’re going to make a fourth kit, they should make it green-like a seafoam or fern with red, white or yellow accents. IMO I’d like to see that. This one looks like a baseball shirt

@happyberks: Maybe they will just keep releasing kits until they hit upon one we actually like!

@BenJames81: That’s shite. @nikefootball need to get some better kit designers. The majority of concept kits I’ve seen are head and shoulders above all the kits we have this season.

@tonyanfield1: Turning into the American baseball season @LFC @Nike

@duklaprm: Fucking awful. The concept kits from fans better than that crap

@PeterMu43809302: So that’s £280 for 4 shirts this year. That’s without the shirts for children too. This is getting expensive.

@stpatsno7: Is it because the other 3 are woeful? New Balance kits were better than them crap efforts…

@JohnParlanti: I personally will never buy any football shirt for the price they are currently at. Should be £30-£45 tops

@ForeverAYellow: Got a soft spot for Liverpool. Just seen the new Liverpool fourth kit leaked. Not bad in my opinion but there is something not right about it, needs some finishing touches. Got to admit though, it’s getting a bit ridiculous when teams are releasing as many as four kits a season. Suppose plenty of extra cash to be made from it.
