Phil Parkinson vows to analyse himself after West Ham hit his Wrexham side for SIX in the Championship on Friday night.
Goals from Jarrod Bowen (28′), Joel Piroe (37′), Konstantinos Mavropanos (48′), Valentin Castellanos (63′), Mohamadou Kanté (76′) and Manor Solomon (82′) sent the Hammers back to the top of the table with 14 points from 7 games.
Meanwhile, this is heaviest defeat of the Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney era at Wrexham, they sit 16th with 7 points from 7 games, and that’s ahead of this weekends’ games.

EXTENDED HIGHLIGHTS:
Wrexham’s Phil Parkinson said, as per Sky Sports:
“For 25 minutes we were in the game and then two moments where our defending wasn’t good enough. We gave a team already full of confidence a huge lift and the third goal kind of really killed us tonight.
“Part of me is being reasonable and saying that these are a very good side, they’ve got a multi-million pound attacking force, probably a strike force which could be in the Premier League, but equally we can do a lot better.
“We’ve always, whatever division we’ve been in, wherever we’ve played, had the ability to show resilience and stay in games and give ourselves a chance.
“Tonight, after those first two goals, we kind of lost our way and we’ve got to analyse that quickly as a group and put the fundamentals back in place to give ourselves a chance in the next game.”
“A very tough night, we’ve got to pick ourselves up”

West Ham’s Nuno Espirito Santo:
“It’s a good game, and that’s very important for us. For them, it’s good to score, to have confidence, and we know that we have to go again, but we are in a better place.
“The last one was a big moment, a big, big moment. Everything can change. But after that, I think overall, in terms of chances, we were really good.
“We didn’t allow too many chances. We pressed them well, we organised, so it was good.
“It’s so important that not only this game, but the players that are coming from the bench bring this energy.”
Here’s how social media users reacted as Phil Parkinson vows to analyse himself after West Ham hit Wrexham for SIX…
@wilko2012: ‘They’ve got a multi million pound attack’….. so do you lot you total melts! 😂😂😂😂😂
@dezroberts1: What we can do better is stop setting up to just sit in, give ourselves a chance to get out and get on front foot. Also stop playing LOB in the 10. Play him deeper, he’s class but we’re playing him out of position 🤯
@ParkyBall_: On of my pet peeves of parky. Always looking for excuses after a terrible loss. Doesn’t acknowledge that he spent and assembled this squad that got spanked 6-0. Nothing else needs to be said other then it’s my fault, I’ll do better, and we move on.
@a_baker1991: The brass neck Parky has to say “multi million pound attack” when ManWrex City spend cash like it’s going out of fashion!! What a cheek!
@_mb188: 100% get why wrexham fans would want to get rid, fair play he’s done a cracking job however with the ambition of the owners and for them to move forward i think they have to get someone else in.
@dezroberts1: It’s not been the results that’s the worry, it’s the manner of performances we’ve been putting in.. culminating in tonight embarrassment 🤦♂️ players are miles off it. When players look like this disinterested, it’s only a matter of time before the manager gets the sack at any club
@Garste: Stick that in your documentary. ⚒️
@whuchr: Look forward to watching this again on Disney+ in the coming year 🙌🙌
@wxm_afc: Being positive, I think we’re only a GK, 3 defenders, 5 midfielders, 2 strikers and 1 manager short of a title charge.
@fplwithmatt: Friendly reminder that this Wrexham team won 3-0 at Millwall just 9 days ago.. 😭
@whuchr: Genuinely could’ve been 20-0, is this what it felt like being a City fan in the prem? Best we’ve played in fuckin years, spot on from Nuno and the boys: great footy, subs, tactics, desire. Class.
@LWillbourne: We clicking now. players fighting to be in the first 11 .link up play from the forwards outstanding .need to start hard an score early then teams open up… coyi ⚒⚒⚒
@ajWHU1: Can we win the league and not get promoted please #whufc
@icf66: Really controlled performance tonight. Expected more from Wrexham to be honest. Good that the goals are coming from all over the pitch.
@Andyjoneswrites: No legs in squad. Every player PP has bought is 28+ or older. O’Brien, Moore, Vyner, Worrall, Whiteman, etc. Parky can’t coach players so buys ready made pros. Huge issue ahead bcs few players in squad have any resale value. Broadhead £8m? Patterson £10m? Jesus. #wxmafc
