Patrick Bamford deletes his Twitter account after liking tweet criticising abuse from Leeds fans amid a serious threat of relegation.
Everton, Leicester, Leeds, Nottingham Forest and Southampton are realistically the ones left trying to beat the drop in the Premier League.
The fact that they’ve all played the same amount of games also helps to keep everything neat.
Leeds are in the worst position among the three remaining contenders in this three-game shootout – with Southampton all but relegated.
The Whites also have a daunting fixture list, which includes three teams that can each cause more goal-difference havoc on their own day if Big Sam can’t manage to get his message through in a short time.
It was one thing to concede two goals against Manchester City, but it is another to maintain their season average of goals conceded. It’s not good to have a defence that is clearly worse than Leicester, Forest or Southampton.
Sadly, Patrick Bamford has felt the need to get rid of his social media, after his activity and recent performances caused backlash.

Totally Leeds tweeted: “Well done to everyone whose tweets have cause Patrick to deactivate Twitter, hope you’re happy
“You think he doesn’t know the impact of that miss against Leicester, probably replays the moment everyday
“Harassing him for liking a tweet about the pressure of fans is not okay.
“Whatever your opinion of him and his actions or about his liked tweet never warrants abuse.
“He hasn’t be great this season, he’d be the first to admit it, but this is the guy who led the line the season we got promoted and during our best season in 20 years, doesn’t deserve abuse.
“As someone who likes to do compilation videos I choose to never single out players like this
“Imagine how he must feel seeing this video circulating twitter for someone just to get a few likes after dedicating 5 years of his career to Leeds. As a fan base we’re better than this.”
Here’s the reaction as Patrick Bamford deletes his Twitter after liking a tweet criticising abuse from Leeds fans…
@JudeLufc: I totally agree it’s a disgrace there is no need for it at all. We should be supporting the players not abusing them and he comes across as such a nice person. If any of these people circulating the video and abusing him can do any better get your boots on! No thought not…
@Lufcburny: I don’t agree with people messaging his family but every single one of them has been a disgrace this season. They all deserve the criticism & too right they should see it. Why should it just be the fans that get hurt and upset every single season because they’re useless.
@JohnAtki59: Appalling behaviour by so called fans, PB is an asset to the team and we should be getting behind all of them. MOT….
@AllLoveLeeds: Sick of seeing Bamford being singled out. What if he scores against Newcastle, West Ham or Spurs we get vital points? Be a lot of people shutting the fuck up after that eh?! Just get behind lads see where it takes us instead of slagging 1 player off when most been 💩 all season.
@fedgilb: Anyone abusing Patrick Bamford on-line with @comments while claiming to be a LUFC fan is a total twat. If that’s you please unfollow me. I hate twats like that. U can do without ur shite. Message ends
@stubberfieldkev: If you’re someone who’s been abusing Patrick Bamford today like a sad little keyboard warrior unfollow me immediately and grow up. Opinions are one thing, but personal abuse and tagging him with that pathetic video is crossing a line and counter productive #lufc #MOT
@Toneball28: Bamford chased off Twitter by its own fanbase. When will this madness end 😔 #lufc
@GrantHeseltine: Has Bamford closed his twitter account due to abuse from some #lufc fans?! That’s appalling. Whatever you think of his ability there’s no need to abuse one of our own. Clearly damaging his mental health & hardly the boost he needs to finish the season strongly. Do better
@MartinCBMRiley: Makes me sick that Patrick Bamford has been hounded off social media. He’s given his all and has worn his body down to the ground for the cause and what does he get? Abuse to him and his spouse. Why do fans think they have the right to do this?
@Ash_LUFC_: Don’t blame Bamford, get behind him. Blame the board for not bringing in a like for like Striker that can play at this level. 👍🏻 #LUFC
@SirrellDylan: Our fan base has gone toxic since prem, its the one thing I’ve hated the most about going up
@mia_rotty_leeds: Yeah, not cool. Hope he proves us all wrong on Saturday
@gnscloz: Fan base disgust me tbh. Think it’s new premier league breed I think fancy outright persecuting a player with 3 games to go especially bamford he’s a confidence player so cheers everyone
@iambenlawrence: I just don’t get it. Why does anyone think it’s justified to slag off a player publicly and then tag them in it to make it worse. It’s so unnecessary and will have no benefit to the squad whatsoever.
