‘Oh my word’ – Absolute scenes as Leyton Orient go 1-0 up vs Man City after a shot from just past the halfway line. Take a look.
The magic of the cup with Jamie Donley, a Tottenham loanee, picking the ball up just inside the Manchester City half and tried his luck from distance! It came off the bar and hit the back of Ortega before going across the line.
It had the majority of those inside Brisbane Road going wild in celebration, ecstatic at what they had just seen. Check out the video of it below…

Chris Sutton (BBC Radio 5 Live): “This is so good from Jamie Donley. He is near the halfway line and spots Stefan Ortega off the line.
“What a spot and what a story! This is absolutely sensational from from Donley.
“Leyton Orient have something to hold on to now. That goal will do them a world of good but they need to work hard defensively now.
“We see a lot of players shooting from distance and from the halfway line. But to execute that skill and be that accurate, it’s a phenomenal achievement from Jamie Donley.
“It will go down as an own goal but it is one of the greatest FA Cup goals.”
BBC Sport reporters wrote at the time: “This is not a mistake – Leyton Orient have the lead and it’s a goal of a lifetime for Jamie Donley.
“Mark my words, they are going to be showing replays of this for years to come.
“Donley is about 45 yards out – yes, 45 yards – when he goes for goal.
“It goes over Stefan Ortega, hits the crossbar, bounces down and hits Ortega before bouncing over the line.
“Leyton Orient are in dreamland!
“The noise inside Brisbane Road is off the scale. ‘1-0 to the Orient, 1-0 to the Orient’ roar the home fans.
“Manchester City are stunned. They are struggling to get going.”
SSN reporter James Green at the Gaughan Group Stadium: “OH MY GOD! WHAT HAVE WE JUST SEEN!!! THIS STADIUM HAS ERUPTED!
“Two penalty shoot outs, a goalkeeper scoring to keep them in the FA Cup and now a 40-yard strike from Jamie Donley to take the lead over the Premier League champions! What dreams are made of! Unbelievable!
“The home crowd currently chanting ‘You’re getting sacked in the morning,’ which I can only presume is aimed at Pep Guardiola…
“Speaking to the home fans before the game, many laughed when I asked them if Orient could pull off a miracle today, no one believed it was possible. But almost 30 minutes and they are in dreamland!”
Simon Stone (BBC Sport’s chief football news reporter at the Gaughan Group Stadium): “The Leyton Orient fans just sang ‘sacked in the morning’ to Pep Guardiola. The FA Cup creates moments like that.”
Man City levelled on 55 minutes, won a corner, played short and it ended up at the feet of Rico Lewis about 20 yards out, the ball going past Josh Keeley via a wicked deflection off Abdukodir Khusanov.
The heartbreak for the hosts as they went into the final 10 minutes, quality from Kevin de Bruyne as he poked it past Josh Keeley from an angle.

@chrismada9: Right up there with one of the greatest ever FA Cup “‘ave it!” moments! π
@AlfW96: Cannot get enough. What a goal ππ
@Georgepne1: Impressed by Leyton Orient here. Proper underdog FA cup performance so far. Hereβs to another City loss #lofc #orient
@JakePetrolhead: The magic of the FA Cup, strikes again. Protect this at all costs.
@MikeKearney1: The single most satisfy noise you will hear ever on a footy pitch this. Bar and in with a thump. Pick that out
@joshuapsjones: If anything could sum up Cityβs season so far. Important player gets injured, opponent piece of unbelievable individual brilliance, goalkeeper error. Itβs perfect.
@JoshuaKekana: You’ve got to just give the goal to Donley tbh for the audacity to even attempt a shot of such quality from that distance. Absolute Magic of the Cup β’οΈ
@picklesthomas: This is his goal all day long. If a keeper gets a hand to it but it goes in, it isn’t an own goal. This isn’t either. Stop being boring and put his name next to the goal!
@d4vd__: My fucking team- tears are in my eyes!!
@TomSleeman11: Probably the first time an own goal will win goal of the round.
@Wheddsta: The stewards reaction at 00:11 is one of the best things Iβve ever seen π
