Nottingham Forest’s Danilo suffers a ‘disgusting’ leg injury with screens placed around the player before those in stadium applaud him off.
Just 8 minutes into the Premier League fixture, Danilo looked to have suffered a nasty injury to his left ankle after going up for a challenge with Semenyo and landed badly.
Referee Michael Oliver immediately called for the physios and a stretcher was brought on almost instantly.
Stewards also brought on Forest blankets to cover the player from view as he received treatment, while Forest fans supported him by chanting his name.
Danilo was then stretchered off to a standing ovation from all four sides of the stadium with Antoine Semenyo running over to shake his hand and Forest captain Ryan Yates coming on after a seven-minute stoppage.

“It was a horrible moment for everyone,” Nuno said post-match. “He has been to hospital (The Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham).
“There are some examinations he still needs to have, but he has broken his ankle. It is serious and we are going to miss him, not only on the pitch, but also around the place, because he is a wonderful boy. He is always smiling.
“He brings us joy and we wish him the best. You could see how bad it was by the reaction of the other players — not just our players — and also everyone else in the stadium, who tried to cover him up. Everyone realised how serious it was.
“These moments stay in the heads of the players. But I think their response was good. It has had an impact on the players in the dressing room, because everyone loves him so much.
“I think he will leave hospital tonight but will be assessed tomorrow. It was serious but the good news is that he is stable, he is speaking, he is aware.
“I cannot say (how long he will be out for). But I just wish that it is short, because he is a very important player for us.”
Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola: “I think the most important thing is the injury. We could see straightaway/ I realised it’s going to be very bad. I hope it’s not as bad as it looks but it looked a really bad one.”
Danilo had to be stretchered off in this first-half for Nottingham Forest with a lower-leg injury.
Serious ankle injury – internal rotation mechanism and ankle irregularity bring concern for an ankle fracture-dislocation.

Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo to Premier League Productions: “As a team we knew we had to come out in the second half and make a difference. We’ll take a point and on to the next.”
On his coming together with Danilo: “I don’t remember much. I just remember getting an elbow to the back of my head and landing on my arm. I didn’t think anything of it but then I got up and saw he was being stretchered off. Sorry to him and I hope he [Danilo] recovers well.
“For 90 minutes you have to concentrate anyway, regardless of injuries. As soon as I got up everybody tried to boost my moral and confidence to keep going, I have to thank my teammates for that.
“Having Dominic [Solanke] in the team was great, but as a team we have to get on with it and try and score as many goals as we can as a team.”
Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood on BBC Radio 5 Live about Danilo’s first-half injury: “It’s not a nice one when a team-mate goes down on the pitch like that. He is a great guy and loved by everyone. we will be here to support him in any way possible for him and the family and I know he will come back stronger.
“As footballers you just want to play a nice game and not have to worry about anything like that. It is not nice to see and we will support him.
“Whatever it is, he will come back stronger and come back a better man.”
On his goal against Bournemouth: “Let’s hope that continues. I want to keep contributing and keep scoring goals. We were good in phases today and we need a more complete performance.”
