Norwich City bite back at Bristol Rovers with a cheeky tweet mocking the atmosphere during the FA Cup Third Round Replay.
In the first meeting between the two sides at Carrow Road earlier in the month, Bristol Rovers published a tweet about their fans making a dig at Norwich City.
They tweeted with the scoreline at 1-1: “73′ Rovers fans question whether or not this is a library. 📚”
This went on the get over 1,500 likes, with Twitter users including that of Bristol Rovers and Ipswich Town rather amused.
The game went to a replay, and this was Norwich’s chance to get back at them, and that they did by publishing pretty much exactly that same tweet, but this time with Norwich winning 3-1 at the Memorial Stadium.
Norwich City wrote: “City fans question whether or not this is a library. 🔵 #BRFC 1-3 #NCFC 🟡 (88)”
Norwich’s tweet got over 3,400 likes, with the help of Bristol City fans who were already having a good day having watched Liam Manning’s side knock West Ham out of the FA Cup the night before.

The game at Bristol Rovers on Wednesday night saw Norwich come from a goal down to see off their League One opponents and reach the FA Cup Fourth Round, where they will visit Liverpool at Anfield.
Luke McCormick put the host ahead on 20 minutes, with the ball fell to him on the edge of the box following a corner, and on the volley, smashed it into the bottom-left corner.
McCallum curled an effort off the far post, with Gabriel Sara lurking to prod in the rebound on 53 minutes.
Minutes later, Norwich were given a spot kick after a superb break lead to a foul on Rowe. Adam Idah stepped up, and although the keeper got a hand to it, there was too much power on it, with the Championship outfit going ahead.
On the 87th minute, Kenny McLean extended Norwich’s lead with a left foot shot from outside of the box.

After the game, Norwich boss David Wagner said, as per canaries.co.uk: “I think the players have done a very good job. I think we needed 15 or 20 minutes to find ourselves in the game. After we conceded from a set-piece, we grew into the game.
“We played some good football, even in the first half. Without a proper end product in the final third, which we addressed. In the second half, the players continued to play on this difficult pitch and created good opportunities and scored wonderful goals.
“It was a very good performance. I think, with the difficult circumstances, we arrived quite late as there was a lot of traffic. It was good, I have seen some very good individual performances, and with Lungi back. That feels like a new player.
“After the first half, and we were 1-0 down, I think we started to play good football. We needed to stick to our ideas and principles. We’ve said in recent games we needed to be better with ball possession, and today we were.
“It’s easy to say that I like to go to Anfield, but it’s not as easy to deliver here on the pitch. But the players have done this. This has shown great character, even when they made it more difficult when were 1-0 down.
“It’s exactly the reward which we’ve known about before the game, and we all wanted that. A few of the guys have never been there on the pitch.
“If you have the chance [to play there], you really have to try and grab it. This is what the players have shown today.”

Bristol Rovers’ Matt Taylor said, as per Bristol Post: “We’re an almost team at the moment aren’t we? Almost a save, almost an attacking moment for us. We’re an almost team. We can’t stay an almost group. Myself as a manager, individually players and collectively as a team. We can’t just stay like that for long because we’ll underachieve.
“We’ve only got the league to concentrate on now so we need to pick up some points pretty quickly.
“I was so pleased at half-time in terms of our first half performance, where we were in the game, the chances we created, being ahead. And then in the space of probably less than five minutes in the second half it kind of derailed. A switch off for their goal and a little bit of quality for them and they capitalised and then we’re looking to get back in a better feeling. With a corner kick ourselves, they counter attack and we end up giving away a penalty.
“In such a short space of time, all that hard work and effort we’ve put in for a good performance all of a sudden turned into a difficult second half. Then we were chasing the game against a quality team. We had a quite good chance with Chris [Martin] hitting towards the back post to get us back level but we were always going to be open to counter attacks.”
