A non league game ended up getting abandoned in the 98th minute, with six red cards for same team, while officials fear for their safety.
Snodland Town took on Tunbridge Wells in Kent on Saturday, but those inside the ground were stunned at how the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division clash came to an end.
Four Snodland players were sent off, with two of their coaching staff members also given marching orders.
@TWFCsupporters saw their tweet go viral, saying: “90+8 The game is abandoned with 3 mins of injury time left due to believed fears over the officials safety.
“6 Red cards for snodland (4 outfield & 2 management) & a sin bin
“The score was 0-0, another clean sheet & impressive performance from the boys 🔴⚽️”
They then said: “Just to confirm, our boys did not play against 7 men & fail to score, 3 of the 4 outfielders were sent off in injury time before the ref abandoned the game 🔴⚽️”
Snodland currently sit 9th with 55 points from 31 games played and are 4 points from the playoffs, were unable to continue playing after being reduced to six players on the field. Tunbridge meanwhile are 16th with 31 points from 29 games played.
Snodland Town posted: “What is happening out there.
“Two more red cards for us!! And then the game gets abandoned by the ref for reasons still to be determined.”
Then they added: “Thank you to the 194 who came along today. We will let you know any outcome.”
Tunbridge Wells said: “Flurry of Red Cards sees Snodland Town down to 7 men, game abandoned with scores level at 0-0.”

Know what you saying but he had actually been back on for sometime.
Waiting to hear some official reasons, everyone just mystified.— Snodland Town FC (@snodlandtownfc) March 23, 2024
Match Matters wrote on Facebook: “An example of how not to referee- away at Snodland Town FC 23/03/2024 – Game abandoned
“In the first half there was a close attempt by Sammie, minutes later the Wells scored but it was sadly disallowed. Fans saw officials making multiple errors throughout the half.
“Walder was fouled and injured with the referee being slow to act, followed by a brilliant shot on goal from Rory!
“The Snodland keeper was often absent from the goal in his tigger costume leaving plenty of opportunity for the Wells to chip the ball over- at one point the only person in goal was one of the outfield players but still Trev could not get the ball around him.
“A terrible mistake was made when there was a miscommunication between Siji and Bentley, with Bentley making the call, not heard by Siji.
“There was then a further good shot from Matty before Half time.
“A kit change saw Bentley change from his usual golden colour to a less preferred green kit.
“Beautiful tackles by Ned and a risky tackle by Sammie led to a close shot on goal by Reggie which resulted in a Wells corner.
“Matty went down in our box, luckily the quick physios tended to his wounds and he was back on his feet.
“Multiple fouls were made by Snodland and cards given, Billy was also given a yellow card for a feeble foul.
Then the weather had other ideas!
“Hail pelted down in Snodland and most of their fans disappeared, the Wells fans powered on- we’re the hardy type.
“A double rainbow later and the game turned. Red card after red card was given to Snodland. It was starting to get ridiculous.
“Then suddenly out of nowhere the pitch was cleared- match abandoned- players, speechless, fans speechless.
“The Fa Assessor has an interesting job this evening- He said he’d being doing this a long time and he’s never seen anything like it.
“All were left wondering, who gets the points? Will the final few minutes have to be replayed or full match time?”
Has to be 5 now

It’s not clear on whether the match will be replayed or if Snodland will lose by default because there were only three minutes remaining.
Twitter users gave their reaction on the non league game abandoned in the 98th minute, with six red cards for the same team, and officials said to have being in fear for their safety…
@cday_AV: Still trying to get my head around what I witnessed today 😂😂
@dannirobins02: Nothing really happened, loads of little fouls and the ref was using the cards too much, some of the reds were due to two yellows but others argued and they got red cards, fans and players were confused as to why the game was called off, there was only 3 mins of extra time left!
