8th tier club Farnham Town hope to ‘become the next Wrexham’ after winning promotion and are still unbeaten in the league this season.
Saturday afternoon saw them promoted to the 8th tier of English football for the first time in their 118-year history, crowned champions, taking 83 points from 29 games, winning 27, drawing twice, and haven’t lost any will scoring 99 goals and scored just 14.
While rivals fans will tell you that they have the luxury of new investment pumped into the club, their own behind-the-scenes documentary on YouTube, 100,000 followers on social media and spent big money on players from higher leagues, there’s more to it than that.

Farnham have improved their stadium, building a new stand and covered terrace, along with new toilets and electric scoreboard.
They also have around 100,000 followers in total across all their socials, with the majority coming from TikTok, as millions of views racked up on their videos, helping boost a young following in the club.
Harry Hugo, 29, said to Mail Online: ‘We need to engage with people through the week.
He took a six-figure into his hometown club, then became the club’s board as a director when Goat, which is a company he co-founded, sold to advertising giants WPP.
‘The Premier League has Sky Sports and national media as an engine to drive it. We don’t have that in non-league. We can go three weeks without a game with postponements, so we try to build that soap opera.’
Farnham also have a behind-the-scenes documentary on YouTube, exploring everything from the match, the result and how decisions are being made at the club.

Written in the stars 💫
One of the first messages I ever sent @HarryHugoGoat after joining @FarnhamTownFC was “I can’t wait to win it at Jersey”

Social media is vital for those down at non league level, especially for those struggling to survive, and if done right, can be hugely beneficial to growing the club, spreading awareness and bringing in extra income. It also has helped bring in extra sponsorship deals from YouTubers ‘The Sidemen’.
Farnham have gone from having attendances averaging at around 150 to around 500 but have hit as high as 1,200 for the 2023/24 season, while Mail Online report that over 1,000 shirts were sold in 12 months.
Aside from the online world, Farnham still want to be a community affair, with ticket prices set at £8, while fans can add a pint, a burger and chips with there still change left over from £20. And what’s better is that Under-16s come free.
‘It’s a proper little football story,’ according to Paul Tanner, who has been a Farnham player, manager and chairman turned director of football.
