There were some truly bizarre and shocking scenes at a Hellenic League derby between Fairford Town and Royal Wootton Bassett Town on Tuesday night which saw the game abandoned.
It all got heated before half time with Bassett’s Brad Pagliaroli and Fairford’s Callum Preece being handed red cards.
Punches, pushing and a headbutt could all be seen during the melee between the two sets of players.
Whilst the officials tried to calm the situation down before talking with their colleagues at the side of the pitch, Bassett players could be seen surrounding the referee who questioned the decision to send off Pagliaroli.
The referee then decided that enough was enough and ended the game by walking off the pitch.
