Nicolas Jackson hits Morato as Chelsea and Nottingham Forest players get into a heated brawl, with further punishment expected to come.
The Premier League fixture played out to an entertaining 1-1 draw, but tensions boiled over leading to a mass brawl involving players from both teams.
Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson was notably involved in this fracas after being caught on camera whacking Forest’s Morato.
The incident all started with a confrontation involving Marc Cucurella and escalated when players, including substitutes and coaching staff, rushed onto the pitch.
Chelsea now face potential punishment of a £25,000 fine due to the accumulation of six yellow cards in the match, which is an automatic penalty.
This was Chelsea’s second such fine of the season, indicating a pattern of disciplinary issues. Meanwhile, Jackson could face a retrospective ban for violent conduct due to his actions against Morato. This would depend on the review by the football authorities looking into what happened.
Poor cucurella..
Thought there ll be a major fight but like this match it also got fizzled out🥲🥲🥲 pic.twitter.com/5gDPjTBSVT— Arivazhagan (@ariv22) October 6, 2024

Told VAR did study Nicolas Jackson’s “slap” on Morato but decided it did not constitute violent conduct from the Chelsea striker

The game saw Nottingham Forest go ahead on the 50th minute through Chris Wood, only for Chelsea to level the scoreline shortly after with a goal from Noni Madueke, assisted by Cole Palmer. Forest keeper Matz Sels and Chelsea’s Sanchez also put in vital saves to keep their sides in it.
The match was marked by high tempers, with 11 yellow cards issued overall, and Forest’s James Ward-Prowse being sent off for a second bookable offence.
While things got heated, instead of getting involved, Cole Palmer instead just sat on the pitch and watched it all play out, amusing many with fans praising him.
Nicolas Jackson.
Proper Shithouse.

Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood: “We know they are a good side and it’s always going to be a tough occasion at Stamford Bridge, but we want to be rising up the table and competing up there for years to come.”
On scoring the opener: “It’s always nice to be scoring and ticking over. It would have be nice if it was three points rather than one, though.”
On trying to match away performances back at the City Ground: “We want to bring it to the City Ground but it’s not something we need to panic about. It will click at home.
“We’re working hard so I’m sure it will come.”
Chelsea goalscorer Noni Madueke, speaking to BBC MOTD2: “They are a stubborn side. We went into the game with the intention to take three points but we couldn’t get over the line and it’s frustrating.
“They were defending pretty much the whole game and sometimes it just doesn’t fall. We go into the international break and come back prepared for Liverpool.
“Credit to them, they are resilient with a lot of players behind the ball. They know if you give us space we are dangerous, having said that we could have scored three, four or five, but its one of those games.”
On scoring the equaliser: “It’s nice to get a goal, I’ve missed a few chances recently. Of course, we didn’t win the game so it doesn’t count for much.”
On how the season has gone so far: “It’s a good start, just one loss in the league, some great performances with a lot of goals and we’re still conceding some sloppy goals. It’s a good start with a new manager.”
On being called up for England duty: “It’s an honour to be called up for your country and that your work is recognised so I’m buzzing.”
Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels, speaking to BBC MOTD2: “We know that they are a very good team, they played in the Conference League a few days ago and have a big squad full of quality so I expected to have a lot of work.
“After the red card we were under pressure but we had big chances to win in the end. I’m happy for the team and we need to continue because I think it’s five or six games away that we haven’t lost.
“It’s like we are in two phases – we are happy with a point but had chances to win the game. Away at Chelsea a point is very good. We take confidence from this for the future.”
On ambition for the season: “Our ambition is to get 40 points as quick as possible and then maybe we can aim higher. Premier League is a tough league so we need to go game by game.”
Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, speaking to PLP: “Sometimes when the opponents go down to 10 it doesn’t get easier.
“[Matz] Sels was top as well, making saves at the end. [Enzo] Maresca said at the end we did everything we could and he was proud.”
On positives: “We were doing the right things that we’ve been doing each game. When they went down to 10 we kept pressing but it just wasn’t for us today.”
On bookings and suspensions for Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana: “Massive players but it was unlucky. They need to stop talking to the officials.
“We have some very good players to come in.”
Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo, speaking to BBC MOTD2: “The full game was a very good game with both teams trying. We played and created.
“The second half was very good for the spectators. We controlled the game well. There is no other way to play against big teams, if you don’t unite then it’s difficult.
“We blocked the middle of the park and dealt well with one v ones out wide. The game was stretched, we had a good chance and then Chelsea had a good chance.
“The goalkeepers were great at both ends.”
On away form: “We don’t make any difference in performance at home and away.
“We need to assess why we aren’t getting results at the City Ground. Away we are doing really well but at home we aren’t. The issue is to resolve what is happening at the City Ground.”
On goalscorer Chris Wood: “He is giving us good results. Chris is always there to deliver and we are happy for it.”
On Morgan Gibbs-White limping off with an injury: “He will be assessed and tomorrow he will do a scan to see if he can join the England squad. I hope for the best.”
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, speaking to BBC MOTD2: “I think we deserved to win.
“They are a very good team and we knew they would defend well. It was a tough and tricky game, very different to Brighton. We were patient on the ball and created chances.
“Overall the performance was good and I think we deserved to win.
“Their keeper was the best of the game. We created chances and arrived at goal in the way we want to.”
On whether he has concerns about home form not matching results on the road: “I don’t think so. If you analyse the games, I think Crystal Palace was like today – we created and deserved to win. I don’t think there is any reason.”
Here’s how fans reacted as Nicolas Jackson hits Morato as Chelsea and Nottingham Forest players get into heated brawl…
@StanHarper1403: How’s Jackson got away with that then?
@Ireland_2012: Blue fist at Morato in there..
@Cookiex2: I’m sure the PGMOL will punish it accordingly by finding an Arsenal player to ban for 3 games
@AlieNFFClineker: This needs looking into
@ForestFanBase: This was absolutely pathetic. Made a big thing of a nothing incident just because they looked foolish. 🤦♂️
@erskkbo: Forest ruffling feathers by daring to be fighting for a point against a “big” team…love to see it…COYR, here to stay.😉
@psychoFTID: Is that Nicolas Jackson throwing a punch in there? I’m sure the @premierleague and the @FA_PGMOL will clarify and suspend accordingly 😳😂😂😂😂
@RedDogNF: Forest players getting punched, you’re a fucking joke @OfficialFPLm@PLMatchCentre #nffc
@nottm_forest: Definitely a punch thrown by a Chelsea player here… #CHENFO #NFFC
@realDavidMyers: Do I see a punch being chucked?
@NFFC__Cam: Punch thrown by a Chelsea player there, get him banned
@McBrads95: Even if it’s a bench player, no surprise VAR somehow missed a punch being thrown at a Forest player (morato especially) #CHENFO #NFFC @FA_PGMOL
@forestfan2024: That Nicolas Jackson thinks he’s tough guy, Morato would flatten him if all those players weren’t in the way. #cfc #nffc
@DaveHo1mes: “Nottingham Forest and Morato have been charged by the FA for intentionally getting in the way of a poorly aimed slap”
@KJMsport57: Didn’t VAR get involved? Checks notes. Oh no, of course, it’s Forest. No action required. #nffc @NFFC
@henjohansen1: But of course no red or even a VAR check… 😡
@FRIKSHON: @FA_PGMOL Retrospective action please? Or are we gonna brush it under the carpet because it’s one of the elite brigade? This guy lost his head & nothing was done before this. Ignoring blatant bookable offences which would have meant second yellows aswell. Not a great look.
@forestforever11: About the only target he actually managed to hit in that game to be fair.
