A Newcastle fan goes viral over the weekend appearing to mimic Harvey Barnes’ celebration against Aston Villa on Saturday evening.
The Magpies got the season off to an empathic start as they swept a much-fancied Aston Villa aside with a 5-1 win and a debut goal topped it off for Sandro Tonali, opening the scoring just six minutes in before an Alexander Isak double and one from Callum Wilson put the game out of the reach.
Then there was a third debut goal with Harvey Barnes, a £38million signing from Leicester, brought on with just over 20 minutes left to play.
Barnes ran towards the corner flag in celebration and produce his trademark imaginary bow and arrow which was aimed into the crowd.
But viewers spot a shirtless, bald Geordie who fired one back as he got caught up in the joyous scenes.
The lads react to THAT Newcastle fans’ Harvey Barnes celebration 😂🏹

POST MATCH INTERVIEW:
Interviewer: So, Harvey, you’re off and running with a big win this evening. How pleased are you to begin the season with three points?
HB: I think it’s important you want to start the season well, sets you up going forward. Now, we know we’ve got some tough games coming up, so I think today was important to build that confidence going into them. So it was a perfect start.
Interviewer: Sandro Tonali, he broke the deadlock inside six minutes. Was that exactly what the the team wanted, a quick start?
HB: Yeah, definitely.I think we spoke about that before the game. With the away team coming here, you want to let them know that they’re in a game early doors. I think we did that. We pressed them out early, created chances and obviously got the goal, which is important.
Interviewer: Villa, they got back on level terms before Alexander Isak restored the lead. How pleasing was the response after conceding that goal?
HB: Yeah, great. I think, you know, when you concede it’s exactly what you want from the team, bounce back. Best way to do that is obviously with a goal. So it was the perfect response.
Interviewer: You were then brought on in the second half. You certainly made a good impact, a goal and an assist from the substitute bench. How pleased were you to make such a bright impact on your competitive debut for Newcastle as well?
HB: Yeah, delighted. Coming off the bench, it’s what you want to do as an attacker. You want to come on and make an impact, help the team get the result across the line, which I think them extra goals did. So, now, obviously, I was very pleased.
Interviewer: You scored twice last week at St James’s Park. How much did you enjoy playing in front of a full house today?
HB: Yeah, it was great. That was fair. I’ve experienced it in previous years, being the way side, but having them behind me today was great. You could see it from the off. They were really up for it. So when I came on and really felt that, it was great, obviously.
Interviewer: Villa finished 7th last season. You’ve scored five goals today. How much confidence does that give the squad at the opening stages of the season?
HB: Yeah, no, they were a good side. Like I said, we know we’ve got a tough start in the league, including the Villa game today. We knew that there was going to be a tough game, but I think we approached it right stuck to the game plan, and I think we were clinical in a lot of phases as well. Obviously, it’s an impressive scoreline, one that will take great confidence from going into the next few games. But, yeah, it was certainly a tough game.
Interviewer: You’re top of the table tonight. The fans will be loving that, obviously. Early days, of course, a trip to Man City next up. How much confidence can that result today bring ahead of facing the champions next week?
HB: A lot. You know it’s going to be a tough game when you’re going away to Man City, but I think today we’re not going to be in a better place going into that game. Full of confidence. Obviously we didn’t get the clean deep today, but I’m sure going into next week, the whole team is going to be buzzing to go for that and hopefully we can get a result.
Twitter users reacted as Newcastle fan goes viral appearing to mimic Harvey Barnes’ celebration against Aston Villa…
@_jwynny: He actually does it better than Barnes by not letting go of the imaginary bow. 10/10

@ChessyHour: I have a soft spot for Newcastle and their fans I can’t lie lool. They’re such an entertaining bunch. Hate when we play against them. Such a difficult place to go with that energy at St James’s. If we ever win away at Newcastle, I definitely get good vibes for how well we’ll do that season.- Meeds
@LukeWhosTalking: This is the peak of the male form. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.
@GH1876: This is so class
@EthayOuchgray: The bald guy understands that you hold onto the bow as you fire the arrow. The professional athlete, one of the most well coordinated people in the country, doesn’t.
@dee2404: My favourite bit of match of the day last night 😂
@JohnS198787: What a club 😂😍
