The National League outright title winner, promotion, top seven odds have been revealed for the 2023/24 season now that fixtures are out.
Preparations for the division’s 24 teams are now in full swing with pre-season friendlies getting underway, new shirts being revealed and new signings being brought in.
Rochdale and Hartlepool United drop into non league having been relegated from League Two, while they will also face National League North promoted sides AFC Fylde and Kidderminster Harriers and National League South champions Ebbsfleet United and playoff winners Oxford City.
The 2023–24 National League season, known as the Vanarama National League for sponsorship reasons, will be the ninth season under English football’s new title of the National League, the 21st season consisting of three divisions, and the 45th season overall.
Last season saw the expansion of North and South divisions to 24 teams apiece, a planned increase which was originally scheduled in 2019. However, after the curtailment and voidance of the 2020–21 season for both North and South, promotion and relegation were postponed. For those reasons, the implementation of expansion plans was delayed until 2022–23.
Now a look to 2023-24 and relegated Rochdale will kick off their first season at fifth-tier level at home to promoted Ebbsfleet on the 5th of August.
Oxford City, who make their first appearance at fifth-tier level, will travel to Aldershot.
Hartlepool United, the other relegated EFL team, will travel to Barnet on the opening day.
Kidderminster, back at fifth-tier level for the first time in seven years, are to host Woking.
Last term’s National League North champions AFC Fylde go to Maidenhead United on the opening day.

This is what fans are saying as the National League outright title winner, promotion, top seven odds are revealed for 2023/24…
@wrexham_gamer: I think Chesterfield will win this
@ShaunMalone1997: Just hope we still exist to play it
@MidgecatFootie: Woking/Dorking for promotion next year 🤞 Come on Surrey football 🟨🟦
@smfc_cal: Going to be so tight as there are a lot of teams going into it thinking that they can go up and a lot more thinking that they can get into the playoff places so some big upsets on the cards for some teams
@Dave197878: Far more open next season. Would think Chesterfield are favourites… be interesting to see how Woking go. Borehamwood and Bromley must fancy their chances with Gateshead and Oldham having made strong finishes to the season so could be in the mix.
@princeeroberts: Chesterfield to win it n Hartlepool via play offs. Going to be a interesting season as there’s several teams who could end up in the play offs who didn’t make it last season.
@i8wigan: Kills me to say this as a Stourbridge fan but watch out for Kiddy next season.
@danAndrews0: Chesterfield Champs, Gateshead v Altrincham play off final!
@ojr156: Chesterfield should win imo
@RyanHarley11: Ebbsfleet to do back to back promotions 👀🏆🍻
@durhampoolie: Hartlepool, we’ve NO CHANCE!! Look at Yeovil, Scunthorpe & Torquay. Very worrying times being a Poolie, I tell ya! 😔🙏💙⚽️
@TomDearlove1: Tbf if Chesterfield don’t walk the league then I’ll be shocked. There team is far too good for that league.
@maxbarwick_: how are rochdale so high up 😭😭😭
@chris_eaton_: Fylde have more of a chance than Rochdale. Genuinely.
