Morecambe player Donald Love ended up being booked for angrily slapping the referee’s hand too hard after defeat to Ipswich on Saturday.
The Shrimps captain has gone viral in the last few days with footage showing the exact moment he lost his cool with the officials after the final whistle.
Both sets of players were giving the usual handshakes to the referee and his colleagues, and while others did so without issue, up came Donald Love who was clearly left reeling with their performance throughout the game.

As can be seen in the clip above, the ref isn’t having any of it and storms up to Love, handing out a yellow, and the player even has the cheek to argue back.
The League One encounter itself saw Ipswich come from behind to beat bottom-of-the-table Morecambe 2-1.
Kieran McKenna’s side fell behind to a Kieran Phillips goal on the 34th minute but second-half goals from George Edmundson and a Lee Evans penalty award saw them take the three points despite an earlier spot kick miss from Conor Chaplin.
Morecambe went ahead thanks to on-loan striker Phillips who ran on to Liam Shaw’s flick to volley past Christian Walton.
This gave Ipswich a shock, Leif Davis hit the post three minutes before the break with Kayden Jackson also missing the open target from the rebound.
The visitors hit the woodwork twice in quick succession through Kyle Edwards and Donald Love who almost put into his own goal with a header before they levelled 55 minutes in when Edmundson stabbed home Davis’s corner.
Three minutes later, the Tractorboys were awarded a penalty when Farrend Rawson brought down Edwards only for Ripley to save Chaplin’s effort.
Ipswich were given another penalty after Jacob Bedeau was adjudged to have sent Jackson over in the box and this time Evans made no mistake.
Dylan Connolly saw a goal ruled out for offside and Cole Stockton wasted a glorious chance as Ipswich held on.

Shrimps boss Derek Adams says his side were unfortunate not to take anything from the League One match against Ipswich.
“We’re disappointed not to take anything from the game,” he said.
“I thought it was an entertaining game, it was probably one of our best performances of the season.
“I think we took the game to Ipswich; we started on the front foot, and we got that goal, ahead from a set play, a great ball in and Kieran Phillips was able to put us one nil ahead.
“We looked very comfortable, we limited Ipswich to very few chances throughout the 90 minutes, they had openings, but they weren’t clear cut.
“All we’ve shown is we’ve got some really good players who will enable us to move in a positive direction.”
He continued: “We pressed Ipswich all over the park, the second-best team in league at this moment in time, and they didn’t like it.
“We fed off that because we created openings from it.
“They then changed things about, we adapted to that, I thought they started the second half well, they got a foothold in the game, then they scored from a set play we shouldn’t have conceded.
“Over the 90 minutes, I’m proud of the players.
“I thought we put in a magnificent effort, the 11 and then the substitutes coming on helped us as well.
“I was just delighted with the players.”
Kieran McKenna praised his side’s spirit and resilience after Town came from behind to win 2-1 at Morecambe.
“It’s a great three points,” he told iFollow Ipswich. “There was real spirit and resilience shown in the group again.
“They [Morecambe] scored from a set play and they’re fighting for everything but I never worry too much about us. There was an immediate reaction at the end of the first half and there was belief in the dressing room at half-time.
“We knew we needed to improve and go up a gear but we also knew we had it in us. The start of the second half, probably the first 25 minutes, was excellent.
“We took it up quite a few notches and executed everything we spoke about at half-time. It was a challenge but we responded in the right way.”
