Millwall fans have been condemned after being spotted doing a helicopter gesture at Leicester fans in the FA Cup Third Round clash.
A 13 second clip appears to show the moment two Millwall fans reference the 2018 helicopter crash which sadly saw five people lose their lives.
All people on board, the pilot and four passengers, including club owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, were killed with the Air Accidents Investigation Branch attributed the crash to a loss of yaw control owing to a failure of the tail rotor control linkage.
But unfortunately, a number of mindless fans use the incident as a bizarre way to taunt Leicester fans, and having been caught on camera, a ban is expected to come their way.

The Metropolitan Police said to The Mirror that “two men were detained and ejected from the ground” with a spokesperson adding: “They will each be summonsed for an offence under the Public Order Act. Enquiries are ongoing to locate a third man in connection with the incident.”
This type of incident also happened back in October 2023, with a Sunderland fan who mocked the Leicester helicopter crash being banned from attending matches for three years.
Sunderland supporter Keelan Murray made the offensive gesture when his team were playing at the King Power Stadium, with the 20-year-old pleading guilty to a Section 5 Public Order offence at Leicester Magistrates’ Court, was also ordered to pay a fine of £120, and also pay £85 in costs and a £48 victim surcharge.
Leicestershire Police said Murray was arrested having been seen making a gesture that referenced the helicopter crash in 2018.
PC David Stevens of Leicestershire Police said at the time: “Anyone who engages in making offensive gestures or ‘tragedy chanting’ faces the risk of arrest if caught.
“Such behaviour has no place in football and we will continue to work with the club to identify those committing such offences.”
Back to this weekend’s game and Leicester advanced through to the FA Cup Fourth Round, with a 3-2 victory at The Den on Saturday afternoon.
The Foxes went 1-0 up with their first attack on 16 minutes, as Marc Albrighton sent in a cross from the right for Cesare Casadei to header home.
Casadei then helped Ricardo Pereira go clean through to shoot past Matija Sarkic, doubling their lead on 39 minutes.
Duncan Watmore got one back for Millwall from close range early in the second half, but Tom Cannon again restored their two goal lead to make it 3-1, as Sarkic got on the end of Callum Doyle’s long ball to round the keeper and place into an empty net.
Millwall had their second goal of the game through Zian Flemming when he netted from Joe Bryan’s corner, but Leicester held on for the win
Millwall: Sarkic, Leonard (Longman 42′), Cooper, Harding, McNamara, Honeyman, Mitchell, Bryan, Watmore (Esse 77′), Flemming, Nisbet (Bradshaw 67′)
Subs: Trueman, Campbell, Grant, Walker, Adom-Malaki, Lawson
Leicester: Stolarczyk, Pereira, Coady, Nelson, Doyle, Casadei, Choudhury, Albrighton, Akgün (Dewsbury-Hall 72′), Marçal (Maswanhise 77′), Cannon
Subs: Ward, Justin, Faes, Winks, Mavididi, Fatawu, Vestergaard
Enzo Maresca said on Leicester’s win: “It was a very good game, I enjoyed it. We had many, many chances. We also probably conceded some chances but it’s normal in this kind of game. I think in the second half we were also much better off the ball.
“The way we pressed, I think we worked much better off the ball and, on the ball, we were finding Yunus [Akgün] a little bit more and then Kiernan [Dewsbury-Hall]. We had struggled a little bit in the first half, but overall it was a good game.
“We conceded two goals from set pieces that we could probably avoid but it’s one of the many things that we need to improve for sure.
“[I’m pleased with] all of them today to be honest,” the 43-year-old continued. “It was a tricky game, we had many young players like Wanya [Marçal], Ben and Jakub [Stolarczyk]. Don’t forget Callum and Cesare were born in 2003 so they are also very young. I’m happy for him (Doyle) because he’s an important player for us.
“He (Cannon) is working very good off the ball. On the ball he is giving us what we are looking for – goals first of all and the way he is playing, he is linking and connecting with his team-mates, so we are happy.”
As mentioned, Millwall fans were condemned after being spotted doing the helicopter gesture at Leicester fans…
