Matheus Cunha keeps his promise with a goal celebration requested by young Wolves fan Junior who has been battling cancer.
During the Premier League win against Bournemouth at the weekend, Cunha performed a special heartwarming gesture he had promised to the young supporter, with the act of kindness captured and quickly gone viral.
Ahead of the match, Cunha visited the family of Junior, and asked how he should celebrate his next goal. Cunha kept in mind a simple hand gesture after scoring the winning goal in Wolves’ 1-0 victory on Saturday.

In the video, Cunha can be heard saying: “You need to send me video which celebration you want. Don’t forget this.
A voice in the background: “He could do a J!”
Cunha: “It’s like this? Dad is very creative. I like this one.”
The video then turns to the moment Cunha scored and did the celebration.
We then see Cunha visiting the young fan and his family at their house.
Cunha: “Hey, how are you?! Nice to meet you. Are you good? I can go in. Can you come in? Yeah? Thank you. Excuse me. I’ve come with some gifts for you. You need to see if you like yeah? We can sit here.
“I bring you some new things. I know you have already one, but you don’t have it with your name behind. And then this is my number, but you can use it whenever you want. That is fine? This is yours. You’re welcome. It’s a pleasure.
“Right now, you have both because you have Cunha number 10 also. Yeah. Now you collection is big. That is for you also.
“Also, do you have enough hands to hold? There’s a lot of things, Yeah. When you grow, you can use it, I want to send you photos when you use it, the kit. Okay? With your name. That’s fine?
“It was a pleasure to meet you. Give me a hug. Thank you, my guy. Thank you.
“You are so strong. Thank you very much. You’re gonna be strong like this. Okay? I will wave to you always on the pitch.”
Cunha said on the win against Bournemouth: “It was a very tough game. Bournemouth have played the whole season very good, and then we knew coming here we’d have to be very clever to play against them, and then do what’s important to do to win this game.
“We have this kind of luck because I think the defender was a little bit unfortunate with the action, but this can happen, and then we are very happy about the victory.”
On facing 10-men for an hour: “It’s so hard to play [against a team] without one player. We knew we needed to be intelligent and then be a little bit more clever with the ball.
“But sometimes I don’t think we did what’s important to keep the position, to be clever, to pass the ball, and, honestly, we worked and then we had this kind of luck to win this game.
“We don’t think we did a very good game, but we did what was important to do to win this game.”
On a fourth goal in four: “Always for a striker, for a mid-offensive player, it’s always very important to keep scoring, to keep assisting, and these kinds of things.
“I scored, but I don’t think this is the most important point now, because the most important point is the three points.
“Our situation is not the same situation, and we have a lot of time to enjoy this kind of moment, but we need to keep going. I’m much more happy because this goal is what helped us to get a very important win.”
On having belief to avoid relegation: “Of course. We have this kind of quality, and I think the second half against Liverpool showed this. We played against the best team in the season right now, and we showed we can keep going and have the personality to do what we need to do to win every game in the season.
“But I think we need to be a little bit more clever to keep the level and not drop this kind of ‘good performance, bad performance’, we need to find a way to be regular, and I think this is most important to stay in the Premier League.”
