A Welsh Premier League match goes viral this week for an injury time brawl with four players getting sent off with minutes left of the game.
Friday night saw the meeting of Caernarfon and Connah’s Quay and the ending was beyond what anyone expected to happen late on in the game.
Caernarfon took the lead on the 55th minute when Sion Bradley on the right side had his low cross met by Mike Hayes who slotted into the net.
Twenty minutes later, a Declan Poole corner was flicked on, the flick on found Mike Wilde who’s header then beat the opposition keeper to make it 1-1.
It looked like neither side were about to go on and get the winner, however before the full time whistle blew, there was still time for a penalty.
This subsequently allowed Connah’s Quay to take advantage of all three points, though trouble broke out after the spot kick was scored and every player got involved in the melee.
The referee sent four players their marching orders for getting involved in the mass brawl.
As the scuffle settled, Connah’s Quay goalkeeper Lewis Brass was red carded for wrestling Noah Edwards to the ground, his teammate and penalty scorer Callum Roberts was also ordered off for an attempted punch, while Edwards was also sent off for a second bookable offence.
Carenarfon’s Sion Bradley was also dismissed for what the referee deemed a strong challenge, meaning both sides finished with nine men.
The punch up and wrestling moves if you like can be seen in the footage below…

On the crazy end to the game, Connah’s Quay Nomads manager Andy Morrison said: “Yeah you know what, I don’t even want to talk about it because it’s the most embarrassing load of nonsense I’ve ever seen on the pitch.
“You know it’ll be handbags, people pushing, shoving, grabbing, and it’s just a load of nonsense.
“You know there was a foul, nasty stamp on Aeron Edwards and the instinct is to go in.
“But that stage of the game, we were winning the game, we’ve got the free kick, it’s just about being clever.
“You know when it’s two young lads, who have felt that that is the right thing to do to defend their player, but it is not, it’s not.
“And they’re hurting as well, they’ve just conceded a penalty so they’re ready for a flair up, and it’s just a load of nonsense like I said.
“But they will be dealt with accordingly, you know, because we can’t have that kind of discipline in the club.
“You know we’ve lost our goalkeeper for now, and the goalkeeper when he was needed tonight was very good, but I’m fortunate that I’ve got an exceptional number two, you know, who I think is as good as any keeper in the league, so he’ll get his chance now and if he does well he’ll stay in the team, it’s as simple as that.
“There will be some fines dished out this week that’s for sure, because that is unacceptable.”
Fans gave their reaction as the Welsh Premier League match goes viral for that injury time brawl with four players sent off…
I’m sure TNS are no angels well I know they arnt. yes reaction the wrong way and you can’t do it. But like every player passion and anger sets it some times at end day it’s a mans sport and this what happens. Not saying it’s right he made massive mistake big time but no one hurt

Yeah was stupid reaction but every team in the league and every team around the uk has one them moments when you have a moment of madness and loose see red and nothing you can do about it. I’ve done it i game once and was one time only you just let passion go to the head

If that Caernarfon, they had fans up on ladders and scaffolding outside the ground earlier in the season ?

Completely understand the emotions involved in games and under normal circumstances would probably find this quite funny but come on lads the majority of the country can’t play cos we can’t be trusted by to act responsibly ffs!!

I watched the replay (something not available to the referee) and towards the end there was an attempt to strike from the number 14. Up to that point, a caution was correct but with so much going on it is harsh to attack the referee is that one strike was missed.

1st game in over 8 months today and it’s only demmed safe to have one sub. ‘Elite’ are safe to have full squad and management plus a Royal Rumble in the centre circle ?
