Matchday 28 Premier League Betting Tips

After last weekend’s restricted output thanks to the EFL Cup final, the Premier League returns with a full set of fixtures and three days of action beginning on Saturday. Read on to find out what lies in store for matchday 28 and to find the best Premier League betting tips.

Burnley v Chelsea Betting Tips

The Clarets failed to capitalise on playing two games last week, picking up just the one point from clashes with Crystal Palace and Leicester. Sean Dyche might be able to see the positive in that, but will know that Burnley need all the points they can get if they’re to retain their Premier League status this year.

Next up is Chelsea, fresh off their defeat to Liverpool in the final of the EFL Cup last weekend and a testing task in the FA Cup at Luton. Penalties were a cruel way to lose the EFL Cup, as always, but it’s unlikely that Kepa will be making an appearance between the sticks for Chelsea on Saturday.

It’ll be more interesting to see whether Thomas Tuchel perseveres with Romelu Lukaku, who’s obviously unhappy at Stamford Bridge and has scored just five Premier League goals all season.

Wout Weghorst shoulders Burnley’s hope for goals after arriving from Wolfsburg during the January transfer window but it is Chelsea who will be the favourites here.

Odds of 4/9 for the away win are not that attractive, but turn that selection into a win to nil at 6/5 and things look a little brighter. Back the home underdogs with £10 with bet365 and receive £50 in free bets.

Liverpool v West Ham Betting Tips

Both these sides have had a fifth round FA Cup tie to navigate in the week, with success for the Reds and disappointment for the Hammers. Liverpool look in devastating form at the moment and will be aiming for a sixth consecutive Premier League victory. Meanwhile West Ham will be looking to pick up some more vital points in the race for a top four finish.

Liverpool have already picked up the EFL Cup, and whilst Jürgen Klopp has dismissed talk of a quadruple this season, they remain the only true challengers to Manchester City at the top. The reds also remain in firm contention in both the FA Cup and Champions League. West Ham will be attempting to avoid falling away from the Champions League spots like last season and would definitely lay down a marker with a good performance at Anfield.

Liverpool are yet to lose at home this season and even odds of 9/1 for a West Ham victory seem hopeful at best. A Liverpool win but with both teams to score is more likely, considering the firepower on display – and that can be found at around 17/10.

The home side have scored nine goals in their last two games at Anfield, so odds of 13/10 for four or more goals might be of interest too. A £10 bet receives £50 in free bets with bet365.

Watford v Arsenal Betting Tips

The early game on Sunday sees Arsenal making the short trip into Hertfordshire to take on Watford. The Gunners have enjoyed an upturn in fortune since the disappointing early months of the season, and can concentrate entirely on the Premier League after crashing out of the FA Cup early on and facing no European distractions.

Watford look as though they will be battling against relegation this season and will be looking to pick up just their second win in 14 games this weekend. Key to any success would seem to be a goal scoring Emmanuel Dennis. The Nigerian striker has been one of the few bright spots for the Hornets this season and could team up with the exciting Ismaïla Sarr to good effect.

Watford are priced at 5/1 to win at home but they have one of the worst defensive records in the Premier League and may not be able to keep out a rejuvenated Arsenal forward line that has definitely improved since the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.  A Gunners win to nil is priced at 27/10, whilst under 2.5 total goals at 4/5 looks good.

Manchester City v Manchester United Betting Tips

Manchester United have only lost one game in all competitions since Ralf Rangnick took over as interim manager at the beginning of December. But there have been far too many draws to seriously challenge at the top and there still seems to be unhappiness in the squad over the way the team are playing.

Manchester City on the other hand are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League and have looked impressive, despite a surprise home defeat to Spurs a couple of weeks ago. City will already know whether Liverpool have managed to close the gap at the top by the time this one kicks off and confidence will be high in getting one over their local rivals.

Whilst City are regarded as the strong favourites here, United have enjoyed fixtures between the two in the last few years and odds of 15/4 for the draw look tempting. Manchester United to win and both teams to score looks even better at 12/1. There haven’t been more than two goals scored in games between these two for over two years now, so total goals under 2.5 at 5/4 could be a smart bet if you just can’t picture a United victory.

£10 on either team to win the Manchester Derby with bet365 receives £50 in free bets.

Premier League Betting Tips

The other significant Premier League game as far as the European places go this weekend is Everton’s trip to London to play Spurs. Frank Lampard has hardly stopped the rot at Goodison Park though with away form still a problem, so go with a home Tottenham win at 4/7 here.

Leicester and Leeds kick off the weekend’s Premier League action on Saturday, with the visitors now playing for new boss Jesse Marsch following Marcelo Bielsa’s sacking last weekend. Leicester have not been in great form recently but should be too much for a struggling Leeds. The home win is priced at 4/5.

Aston Villa and Southampton occupy the middle ground in the Premier League and have little hope of qualifying for Europe or getting dragged into a relegation battle. A draw at 12/5 looks good value for this one.

Newcastle look to have turned the corner in their aim to still be playing Premier League football next season. That will please their new wealthy owners and a home win against a falling Brighton at 17/10 looks like a good price at St James’ Park.

Brentford have done remarkably well this season but have struggled of late and will be hoping for a morale-boosting win away at Norwich on Saturday to calm the nerves. A draw at 21/10 would seem to be the value bet here, yet that does neither club much good though.

Finally, Wolves welcome Crystal Palace to Molineux this weekend with one eye on a European place. Neither side tends to score many goals, so it may not be a thriller. But the home win at 13/10 should be the best bet.
