Footage has emerged as Mason Greenwood tells a fan to back off during a confrontation in a restaurant amid rape allegations.

The Manchester United footballer, currently suspended by the club, was approached by someone in a restaurant amid the ongoing accusation put to him him by his ex-girlfriend Harriet Robson.

He served a short term behind bars for questioning by police, though since been released on bail and will find out if he will face rape charges with police set to report to the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) ‘within days’.

Harriet spoke in the aftermath of the violence that allegedly. She thanked people for coming to her support during the extremely difficult time with her also revealing she would be on a hiatus from her social media platforms till the investigation goes on.

Harriet Robson’s father released a statement on the allegations made against his daughter’s boyfriend Mason Greenwood.

He said around the time of the said incident: “The first thing we knew about this was at 6am this morning. It is dreadful. I’m just coming to terms with it all.

“As a father you don’t want to know things like that happening to your daughter. The police have been round and she has made a statement to them.

“She has told us her phone has been hacked. We told her to take it down, which she has done but it’s out there now so it is too late.

“She is devastated because she didn’t want it released. We have known him since the under 21s. He has been part of our family for two or three years.”

“Their relationship has not been good for the last few months. She is completely devastated by it all.

“They were very much in love and have been together for a while. The police are dealing with it now.”

Greenwood was dumped by sponsors Nike without receiving a penny of compensation following domestic violence and rape accusations and has not played for the club since a Premier League fixture against West Ham on the 22nd of January.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: ‘He’s still on bail but things are at an advanced stage. The police and CPS are currently discussing if there is a case or not to bring against him.

‘There comes a point where a decision has to be made and things have reached that point.’

He was also taken off video games such as FIFA 22 and Football Manager 2022, and is no longer on Manchester United’s app.

An EA Sports spokesman said: “Mason Greenwood has been removed from active squads in FIFA 22 and has also been suspended from appearing in FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) packs and Ultimate Draft.”

Cadbury – one of United’s sponsors – have confirmed they will not use Greenwood as part of any marketing campaigns or products associated with the club, pending investigation. A statement read: “Cadbury does not condone violence in any form.

“Our Partnership is with the Club itself and not the individual players. However, while these allegations are being investigated, any marketing or products we create with Manchester United will not feature this player. We will continue to monitor the situation closely.”

Earlier this month, Greenwood was pictured for the first time since he was arrested, driving his car in Altrincham, Greater Manchester with a balaclava on his head.

GMP confirmed the bail will expire on the 30th of April, and could then be extended, Manchester Evening News reports.

At the time of the forward’s arrest, United interim boss Ralf Rangnick admitted there were ‘internal discussions’ over the matter.

“We had a normal week of training with five training sessions including today’s training,” Rangnick said at the time.

“Obviously it was a topic within the team but they’re human beings and Mason was part of the group before we had our [winter] break. We are looking forward to the game.

“We had internal discussions but I’m pretty sure everyone will understand those internal discussions should stay internal.

“It’s an unusual situation for everybody.”

Rangnick also said at the beginning of February that the player’s unavailability meant they blocked Jesse Lingard from leaving Old Trafford to ensure they weren’t left short.

“We had a problem with Mason Greenwood and being without a player for the time being who has played in [recent] weeks and, together with the club not finding an agreement with another club [for Lingard], this is why he stayed,” he said.

As Mason Greenwood tells a fan to back off during the confrontation in a restaurant amid rape allegations, Man utd say his status remains ‘unchanged’ after he was trending with users pointing out that his profile had reappeared on the club’s website, leading to some speculation that he may be reinstated.

United have responded to claims on social media saying they are false.

“There has been no change whatsoever in Mason’s status,” the club said.

“We removed his profile from the club app soon after he was removed from the squad in January.

“This was in order to remove Mason from interactive elements of the app, such as team predictions etc.

“However, his profile was never removed from the website as he remains a Manchester United player, albeit not currently part of the squad while the legal process unfolds.”
