Marske United have had to release a statement after Tuesday’s game with Gainsborough Trinity marred by appalling racist behaviour.
The hosts ended up losing the Northern Premier League Premier Division fixture 3-0, Clayton Donaldson netting twice (one if which from the spot) and Liam Waldock got the third on the verge of full time.
Marske took immediate action following an incident at last night’s game, issuing a fan with a stadium ban. Read what they had to say below…

The club have worked closely with Gainsborough to stamp out this and thank Gainsborough for their co-operation in ensuring the individual was ejected from the ground immediately.
No player or spectator should have to tolerate any anti-social behaviour and the club have a Zero tolerance to this.

This is how Twitter users reacted as Marske release a statement with the game with Gainsborough marred by appalling racist behaviour…
@parkes_archie: Seems to be happening a lot recently with Marske, disgusting behaviour
@profitacc123: It’s got worse since lockdown. There has certainly been a mentality and that goes for most age groups.
@AndrewSlaughte1: Well done @MarskeUnitedFC. The fans who engage in racial abuse want banning for life in my opinion.
@66Hutchinson: Well done Marske. Should be a life ban though.
@ste_pippen: This is disgusting and shouldn’t happen at any level. I hope their name and image are shared amongst all local clubs so they are not welcomed there either.
@darsleypark: Well done but it really should be a life ban for that
@chrisro64518311: Really can’t believe this is still happening but I can only applaud marske united for there swift action and hope I bump into who ever it was
@g32turbo: Well done Marske, absolutely no place for racists at any football club.
@TerryFunkRules: 3 years?? Should be for funking life!! Weak as the floodlights!
@JR_H123: 3 years. That’s a laughable decision that
@antarcticdonkey: 3 years? Just so he can come back in 3 years and do it again, yeah?
@LiamGale02: I’m hearing that @bojang_ethan got racially abused playing for @GainsTrinityFC tonight against @MarskeUnitedFC now Racism isn’t acceptable anywhere and should not be tolerate by anyone and can seriously affect someone severely, I hope that Marske United fan gets the most severe punishment for it and gets banned as that’s totally unacceptable and big fair play to Ethan Bojang for coming on and setting up our third goal you have the support from the club and our whole fanbase whilst you’re going through this and hope it hasn’t affected you to badly 🔵🔵🔵
@BenJackson2013: Name and shame
@phoebejomellor: 3 years? Not gonna teach them anything is it?
@colin796: @YTFC this is how you deal with racist behavior, maybe a quick call to them for some advice maybe? #ycfc #standwiththeshop #lenelljohnlewis #wedontforget
@JLHazel1: Why just 3 years?
@kevinluff: Seems such a random number. Should be a lifetime ban.
@quakerette: Should be permanently
